Hello Maple Grove Families!
This upcoming week will certainly be a fun one! We have a LOT of great activities happening here at school for both the students AND the families. Please take some time to read through all the upcoming events and reach out with any questions.
Scholastic Book Fair This Week:
It's HERE! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Maple Grove THIS WEEK! Here is some information that was shared last week about the book fair:
Dates: October 15, 16, & 17
Location: Maple Grove Elementary School, 2ndd floor project room across from the library
Events: Shop the bookfair 4pm-6pm daily
Join us for our Fall for Books Family Party on Tuesday, Oct 15th from 4-6
- Dress as your favorite book character
- Storytime
- Make your own bookmarks
- Light refreshments & more!

While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds. When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books from the Fair.
Conference Sign Up Information:
It's not too late to sign up for conferences! We will hold 15 minute, teacher led conferences on October 22 and 24. Remember to bring your child with you so they can talk through all the great learning they are doing and showcase some of that work during conferences, too! The Llamas are Coming! I Repeat, the Llamas are Coming!
This week we are celebrating the hard work our learners did in raising $20,147 for our Maple Grove PTA during the annual Walk-A-Thon fundraiser. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday llamas will visit our school to enjoy some being pet and face time with our students. Keep an eye out on Facebook and Seesaw for pictures of these fun visits. Way to go Grizzlies!
Trunk or Treat October 25:
Trunk or Treat is Friday, October 25th! Sign up to host a trunk or volunteer to help run our event-- we can't do it without you!
Don't forget you can also bring in candy to "feed" to our new Trunk or Treat candy monster, Pete! Drop by the office to bring donated candy by Wednesday, October 23rd.

October 31st Fun: Mark Your Calendars!
We are looking forward to our Fall Costume Parade on October 31. Just a reminder that we do have some expectations around what types of costumes learners may wear for the parade, and we are excited to have families join us, too! If you haven't already, make your calendars and plan to join us on October 31 at 3:00 pm at Jackson Park for the parade. Younger siblings are encouraged to join and dress up, too! Can't wait to see you there!
Have Extra Costumes Lying Around?
If you'd like to donate any costumes to our school to keep and lend out each year, please feel free to drop those off in the main office or send them with your child to school in a bag marked "Donation". We know not every family may have a costume to wear, but we'd love everyone to be a part of the fun. Gently used dress up clothes, costumes, princess dresses, etc. would be welcome!
Coming Soon: Maple Grove Culture Fair
Maple Grove wants to celebrate all of the cultures that make up our school! We are looking to have a celebration during our book fair in February and we want YOU! If you and your family have some cultural traditions you would like to share with our school community, such as clothing, songs, food, dance, etc., please fill out THIS FORM by November 1 to tell us about what you would like to share. We are eager to learn more about your families and cultures as we celebrate the uniqueness of our community.
