The Temple of Restoration’s Prison Outreach Ministry to Hold Its 3rd Annual Pretty 4 Prom Dress Giveaway
Brooklyn, NY – The Temple of Restoration’s Prison Outreach Ministry will hold its 3rd Annual Pretty 4 Prom Dress Giveaway on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 11:00am-3:00pm, at 490 Pacific Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217.
Pretty 4 Prom is an annual program that provides new/gently used prom dresses, shoes, accessories, and make-up to middle school and high school girls who may not be able to afford these items. Since 2019, the program has made a significant impact and filled a need in the Brooklyn community by empowering young women and promoting self-confidence.
This event is free and open to the public. Middle and high school students are encouraged to register for the giveaway at: https://pretty4prom.eventbrite.com.
Ms. Ethridge Williams, the Program Coordinator, said, “Our goal is to make prom night special for girls who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience it. We believe that every young girl deserves to feel beautiful and confident. During the giveaway, they will have the opportunity to select the perfect dress! There will be a celebrity stylist, make-up artist, and other special guest appearances. It will be a fun and exciting event!”
Deacon Marcus Green, M.B.A., who oversees the Prison Outreach Ministry, said, “Prom is an unforgettable part of the high school experience. Unfortunately, many times, young women (and men) are not able to attend their proms because of the expenses. We want to encourage, motivate and support our at-risk youth. Everything they need will be provided at our Giveaway. We will also have a panel discussion of professional women who will pour into them by sharing advice and encouraging them to be successful.”
