NORTH Coaches/Advisor Profile
North Activities are proud to employ over 150 coaches/advisors that serve as head or assistant coaches/advisors across our 30 MSHSL programs and 35 clubs. Coaches are required to meet state statutes and Minnesota State High School League requirements to serve in the role. All coaches receive instruction focused on transformational coaching, league rules and policies, and a variety of additional health and wellness components. Coaches attend an annual collaborative training event hosted at North High School.
ETS Summer Training Program
ETS provided our summer training program to 80 of our student-athletes. ETS's mission is to provide cutting-edge, strength, speed, power, deceleration, and movement mastery training for athletes in a challenging yet positive environment that will enhance performance, build character and improve lives. It is offered to all North students entering grades 7-12, regardless of gender or ability.
HUDL Technology
North Athletics continues to leverage innovative technology for athlete and team development. Many North sports programs across all three sports seasons currently use HUDL technology to record practices and games. Coaches can then edit and add voice or drawings to the digital video for instructional purposes. Video can be sorted and clipped by offense or defense, by play, by the situation, or even by an individual player. We permanently installed "HUDL Focus" cameras at Polar Field and the Hal Norgard Gymnasium. Other sports use portable cameras to record and then upload their video to be used as a teaching tool.
