Weekly Update January 10, 2025
Strive Center for Autism
Happy New Year!
Welcome back! We hope all our families enjoyed a restful break. We are happy to be back in the centers with our favorite kids!
2025 Updates
Just a friendly reminder reminder that if you have any insurance changes, please update us as soon as possible with a copy of your insurance card. We will be sending out an updated handbook for you to review, as well as a few other forms that need annual updates for the children. Keep an eye out for those!
Monthly Attendance Reports
This year, we will begin providing monthly attendance reports for families. These are to ensure you are aware of your child's absences and late arrivals. Our attendance policy allows for 12 unexpected absences per year (i.e. calling in when your child is sick.) Your child's BCBA will briefly review your attendance report with you, so you can ask any questions you may have then. We just want to share the information so that you can be aware of your child's attendance. Remember that for planned absences, we prefer that families use the google form to report those at least two weeks in advance.
2025 Calendars Availalbe Now
2025 Calendars are available now! There is a slight difference in the 2 buildings, so be sure to click on the calendar for the building your child attends.
Meet the Team!
Adam, ABA Therapist
Adam has been a part of the Strive team since January 2025. He previously worked as a para educator for students with autism since 2023.
Adam holds a master’s degree in Theatre Production focusing on Costume Design. He is very interested in incorporating theatre games into everyday student learning. Adam loves using his sense of humor and creative learning approach to keep students actively engaged.
When he’s not working, Adam enjoys crafting - crochet, painting, drawing, sewing, and paper art. Adam also likes gardening and spending time baking in the kitchen. Adam is an avid supporter of live theatre and the arts.
Speech and OT Services Update
Thrive Therapy Center has begun providing Occupational Therapy (OT) services in our Burton location! Shayla is a wonderful addition to our team and has enjoyed meeting the children.
If you are interested in OT services for your child, you can call Thrive at (810) 412-4183 and be sure to let them know that you are interested in services here at Strive. You can also complete their Contact Us form here, again being sure to note that the location you prefer is Strive.
Thrive is continuing to look for a speech therapist to service Burton as well, so if you know of a good therapist, tell them to apply here to work with us!
An Occupational Therapist can help a child with self care skills, emotional and sensory regulation, gross and fine motor skills, sensory processing differences, and more. If you're not sure whether your child would benefit from OT, you can call Thrive to ask more questions or speak to your BCBA. Many children with autism benefit from OT services.
