Prizes will be provided by the Boone County 4-H Council and can be picked up at the Extension Office.
Farm Bureau Sponsoring 4-H T-Shirts
The Farm Bureau will be sponsoring our 4-H exhibitor t-shirts again this year. Each 4-H member will have the option to receive a t-shirt to wear at judging events, contests, exhibiting livestock and other animals, or any time. We appreciate the support the Farm Bureau has given us. It does take a few weeks to get the shirts ordered and printed, so when you enroll in 4-H, please remember to include your shirt size. You are encouraged to write a “Thank You” note and drop it off at our office.
Please join 4-H by the end of MARCH so that we can order the t-shirts for this year!
Poultry Projects!
Order your Market Broilers for County Fair! 4-H members can exhibit a Pen of 3 and a Single bird project. A Pen of 3 Market Broilers is eligible for the Livestock Premium Sale. Order at
https://forms.gle/AGjehaBCeDAGNncB7 by March 14. Chicks will arrive the week of May 19. Cost is $1.70 each.
Get Market Turkeys for a Pen of 2 and Single Project Turkey at https://forms.gle/MDzqRnRsdEShCfzv7
by March 6. Turkey poults will arrive the week of April 14. Turkey poults are $11.20 each.
A Pen of 2 Market Turkeys is also eligible for the Livestock Premium Sale.
Another poultry project is a chick or a duck from Embryology School Enrichment class. Exhibitors may bring one or the other. A Production Trio is another option, and will be judged on production qualities. Eggs can also be exhibited. Each exhibitor is limited to one dozen eggs. Call for more details!
Poultry can also be entered at the Nebraska State Fair in 4-H.
Camp Counselors Needed!
Camp counselors needed for Junior 4-H Camp at Whispering Cedars Camp in Genoa on June 4 to 6. Counselors must be 16 to 18 years of age before January 1. You will be required to complete the Permission and Health form in 4-H Online, and the background screening before coming to camp. Please register by April 30 at

Junior 4-H Camp is open to ALL youth, ages 8-11 before January 1st of this year. 12-year-olds can be put on a waiting list if registered and paid. If there is room after the May 8th deadline, they will be notified that they can attend. Campers can register at
