Principal Update
Dear Parents and Caregivers
As we continue to learn and grow together, we often think about how we can make our school a place of kindness, respect, and understanding. Last week we focused on a very special special principle: “What Would Jesus Do?” This principle encourages us to act with love, compassion, and fairness in our everyday lives. Let’s explore how this principle can guide us and highlight some amazing examples from our students.
What Does “What Would Jesus Do?” Mean?
The question “What Would Jesus Do?” is a way of thinking about how Jesus, who taught us to love our neighbours and help those in need, would handle different situations. It’s about making choices that reflect kindness, honesty, and respect for others. Jesus taught us to:
- Show Kindness and Compassion: Treat others with love and understanding.
- Be Honest and Fair: Always tell the truth and act justly.
- Help Those in Need: Offer support and care to those who are struggling.
Examples of Students Living the Principle
Here are some wonderful examples of our students who have put the “What Would Jesus Do?” principle into action:
- Kindness in the Playground: During recess, a student noticed a classmate who was sitting alone and looking sad. Remembering the importance of compassion she decided to sit with this student and invite her to join in a game. The student’s face lit up with a smile, and soon she was happily playing with the others. This simple act of kindness made a big difference in the other student’s day.
- Support for a New Student: When a new student joined our school, she was feeling nervous and unsure about making friends. A student noticed this and took the time to introduce the new student to other students and show him around. The student’s friendly approach helped the new student feel more welcomed and comfortable in his new environment.
How Can We All Apply This Principle?
- Be a Good Friend: Look out for each other and offer support when someone is in need.
- Be Honest: Always do your best to tell the truth and act fairly.
- Show Compassion: Be understanding and kind to everyone, no matter what.
As we move through this school year, let’s keep asking ourselves, “What Would Jesus Do?” and strive to make choices that reflect kindness, honesty, and a caring spirit. By following this principle, we can create a positive and supportive environment for everyone.
Thank you for being a part of our wonderful school community. Let’s continue to inspire each other with our actions.
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
