The Mustang Memo!
October 2024
A message from Mrs. Mandell
Hello Mustang Families,
The campus is in full fall mode; students have been busy leanring and studying while keeping up with all the excitement here at school. From the Concert Truck to the PTA Sponsored Escape room, and the upcoming Topper's Pizza PTA sponsored fundraiser, we are always on the go!
Thanks to all of our Mustangs who submitted their artwork, visual and performing works, including music compositions, choreography, and literature for the Reflections ART Contest sponsored by PTA. We wish you the best of luck with your entries.
A few upcoming highlights include the schoolwide recognition of Unity Day on October 16th, and The Great American Shakeout Emergency Drill on October 17th where we practice and prepare safely for the California rumblings of the earth-earthquakes. We always want to be prepared (Rule #3). Speaking of safety, safety is a priority for our students. Please see the notes about parking below.
We appreciate seeing our Mustangs dressed for success and ready to learn looking sharp in their uniform Tee's. On Mondays and Wednesdays we are learners unified in our uniform polo shirts. Our new web store link is open!
Thank you for all that you do for our school community. To all our students: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Prepared!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mandell
Principal

Parking Lot Safety
Mustang families, when dropping off students, please remember to proceed with caution and stay in the far right lane so students can exit the passenger side of the vehicle once it is stopped at the designated drop off areas only. TK/K families, if your student(s) are picking up morning breakfast, please escort them to the cafeteria and then to the TK/K playground gate. If they are not picking up breakfast, please escort them to the TK/K playground gate. If you need to assist your student, please park in the church parking lot or a non-designated space. Lastly, please do not park in handicapped marked parking areas-we do not want our families ticketed!

Available Now: Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection
We are proud to provide all students with a Chromebook through the District’s 1:1 Program. While Chromebooks are provided at no cost to families, proper use and care of the Chromebook is the responsibility of the student and their parent/guardian. To support this program, CVUSD is offering Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) program for families to eliminate the concern and costs of repairing or replacing damaged, or stolen Chromebooks.
📍 Important Note: Coverage must be in place prior to a claim being submitted = the time is now to secure Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection for your student's chromebook!
If your child will be absent or arriving late for any reason, please remember to call our office or leave a message on our attendance line at (805) 498-6102 before 8:30am. Be sure to state the date and reason for your child’s absence or late arrival, and your child’s teacher or room number. Any unexcused absence is counted as a truancy. Students are allowed only three truancies per year before action is taken. Planning ahead with your child will also help to avoid unnecessary tardiness. Students who arrive on time feel better about themselves and perform better in the classroom.
