RTES Summer Update
Wednesday, August 14, 2024
Welcome Rose Tree Families!
On behalf of the staff and faculty, we would like to warmly welcome all new families to Rose Tree Elementary! In addition, we would like to welcome all returning families to the 2024-2025 school year. We are confident that your children's time with us will prove to be a rich and rewarding experience. Your support, both at home and here in the building, will help ensure this. We encourage families to be a part of their student’s academic and extra-curricular activities throughout the year. We also encourage parents and guardians to volunteer in our school as well as attend the many events and celebrations that will take place during the year.
Building Projects Update
Many families who visit the Rose Tree Elementary playground during the summer would have noticed the installation of two more modular classrooms at the rear of the building. Work on the modular classrooms is almost complete. The extra space provided by these classrooms will be much appreciated.
Continuing the maintenance work that was started a few years ago, the stucco on the eastern side of the library was replaced. This work has made a significant difference to the appearance of the rear of the building.
Staff and Faculty Updates
Ms. Modge will be joining the 3rd grade team this year. Student numbers in 3rd grade have necessitated the addition of another class, and we are delighted to have Ms. Modge transition to 3rd grade.
Ms. Erin Baldwin joined the 4th grade team towards the beginning of last year and will be transitioning to 1st grade this year. Given that Ms. Baldwin has been a member of our faculty for almost a year, this will no doubt be a smooth transition.
We are very happy to welcome Ms. Kayla Matthews to Rose Tree Elementary. Ms. Matthews will be joining our Encore team as a part-time Social Emotional Learning teacher. Ms. Matthews brings so much experience to this position - we know that she will be an asset to our team.

Summer Math & Reading
Just a reminder to encourage all students entering 1st though 5th grade to complete the summer math and reading expectation outlined in the Summer 2024 Reading & Math booklets that were sent home at the end of the school year. All new students should have received a copy of the Summer 2024 Reading & Math booklet in the mail.
We have found that maintaining acquired math and reading skills over the summer is extremely important for a student's academic growth. For this reason, we recognize all students who have completed their summer math and reading during an assembly at the beginning of the school year.
