Thank you for the Warm Welcome!
Today marks the end of my first week as your Superintendent! It has been a week filled with warmth, excitement, and a deep sense of responsibility as I embark on this incredible journey as the leader of the Upper Dublin School District.
This week I have been able to briefly visit each school, attend the Band Concert at Sandy Run Middle School, interact with high school students in the Environmental PBL course, and spend time with various stakeholders. Through each interaction, I felt an overwhelming sense of welcome and community spirit. The dedication and passion of our educators, staff, students, and parents were palpable, making it clear that our district is a place where learning thrives and relationships matter.
As part of my entry plan, I look forward to building strong partnerships with each of you that will contribute to the continued growth and success of our district and I am committed to fostering open communication and collaboration. In the coming weeks and months, I plan to create numerous avenues for interaction and active listening on my part.
I am both honored and excited to serve as your Superintendent. Together, we will build upon the rich traditions of our school district while embracing new opportunities for growth and excellence. I am confident that, with the dedication of our incredible community, we will achieve great things for our students and continue to make our district a place where every child can thrive.
Thank you for your warm welcome, and I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead.
We Value the Diversity Among Us
I was drawn to the Upper Dublin School District in part by its unwavering commitment to educational equity for all students. This community values diversity and strives to create an atmosphere where every individual feels safe, respected, and appreciated for who they are. I believe that embracing our differences enriches the learning experience and helps build a more compassionate and understanding society.
In light of recent events and the challenges faced by various communities, I felt it was important to reach out to express our unwavering support for the members of our Jewish community. I want to assure you that we stand firmly against any form of discrimination or hatred, including antisemitism. Our schools remain spaces where students can learn about different cultures and perspectives, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and acceptance.
Inclusivity and understanding are crucial components of a thriving community, and I want to assure our Jewish families and all families that you are an integral part of our school district. Together, we can continue to build a community that values diversity, promotes tolerance, and stands united against discrimination and hatred.
If you have any suggestions or specific needs that you believe would enhance our support, please feel free to share them with me. Your input is invaluable as we work together to maintain the district’s commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment where everyone feels respected and valued.
It's That Time of Year!
The winter season will arrive soon and along with winter comes inclement weather. There is certainly excitement with the first snow flurries of the season and students anxiously await a "snow day"! As a district, we carefully consider each weather event, always with student safety foremost in our minds. Before making decisions, we consult with Upper Dublin Township officials to review road conditions and we pay careful attention to weather forecasts. When it becomes necessary to make alterations to the school schedule, we will utilize Infinite Campus (IC) to send emails, phone calls, and texts to alert everyone. We will also post any changes on our website and Facebook page. To ensure that you receive the alerts, we ask that you review and update your contacts in Infinite Campus. We will make every attempt to communicate changes as early as possible in order to provide you with time to make any necessary adjustments.
