This Is How We Lakeview
July 2023 Edition: Volume 4
Latest Updates
Our staff and students had a blast today during our first Club Day session of the year. For those families new to Lakeview this year, each month, we hold a Club Day session for students to interact with different students and staff based on their interests. Our students have a variety of interests, so we have been able to offer Drawing, Gardening, Book Club, Photography, Board Games, among others. Today, we held our Club Day session at the end of the day, and from what we could tell, our students loved it. It was a great way to end the week. Make sure you check out the pictures below!
Our next night for parent-teacher conferences is this coming Tuesday, October 1st. If you haven't set up a conference yet but would like to, please reach out to one of your child's team teachers (ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies) to secure a time slot. Our final opportunity for conferences this fall will be Monday, October 14th.
We hope to see our families at tomorrow's Welcome Back Block Party, held at PHS Central and starting at 11:00 am. I will be the first to go in the dunk tank, so I encourage all of our students to come out to dunk their principal (though, given the weather, I might be drenched anyway).
Finally, our Student Spotlight section (found in the Community Corner) has been bare this year. We would love to highlight some of our students for the awesome, cool things they are a part of outside of school. If you want to give your child a special shoutout, please fill out our Lakeview Family Feedback form and fill in the information in the Student Spotlight section.

New Donation Bin
If any of our families have driven by Lakeview in the past week, you probably noticed a new yellow donation bin by the road. We are partnering with Planet Aid, a non-profit organization that collects used clothing and shoes. All you have to do is stop by the bin, drop in your used items, and you're not only supporting those in need around the world, but you are also supporting our students through this fundraiser.
Athletics
The athletic website for both PHSN & LJH is now live. Use the https://pickeringtonpanthers.org/ to watch for announcements! All coaches will be using this website for updates and announcements, so please check here if you have any questions. When you go to https://pickeringtonpanthers.org/ you will need to click on "more" and then Final Forms is under "Athletic Registration".
