If you check out your student, please make sure that your student is properly signed out from the GPHS Main building. Students may not leave campus without proper parental check-out/consent.

Absence Procedures
Absence procedures
If your student is going to be absent or has an absence that has occurred, Doctors' notes can be turned in to the Attendance Office or Ms. Sotero in the Early College Office. In addition, if you know your student will be absent, you can e-mail Ms. Sotero at melinda.sotero@gpisd.org or call our office at 972-343-6380. Doctor's notes must be turned in within three days.

VOE Requests
If students need a VOE request, they can e-mail Mrs. Sotero @ melinda.sotero@gpisd.org. Requests require 24-hour notice.
Dallas College Information
Fall Semester starts on August 26th 2024
Students should now be accessing their schedule in Dallas College through Ecampus. Some course information such as the professors' syllabus course material etc. If your student does not see their courses yet, they will in the next few days. Work for Dallas College will be done on Bright Space.
If you are a newly enrolled student of ECHS, you will receive your Dallas College information after the 1st two weeks of school. Stay tuned for additional details.

Meet the Chancellor, Ms. Baylor!
Ms. Baylor is a product of Grand Prairie schools. She was born and raised here where she works, lives, and plays. Some may say she needs to widen her horizons; she says she loves living life GRAND in Grand Prairie.
She received her Bachelor of Social Work in 1997, a Bachelor of Sociology in 2001, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies degree from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2003. She also holds a superintendent certification and is currently working on her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas at Denton.
She is excited and honored for the opportunity to serve the students, staff, families, and community of the Early College at Grand Prairie High School.
Meet Dr. Burks, ECHS Academic Dean and Counselor!
Dr. Burks has been a Texas Educator for 19 Years and has been with Grand Prairie Independent School District for 17 of those years. He has served in several positions within the district as a Teacher both Special Education and General Education, Mentor Teacher, Master Teacher, Campus Testing Coordinator, School Counselor, and Dean of Academics.
Dr. Burks currently serves as an Adjunct Professor with neighboring colleges and Universities where he’s served for the last 19 years.
Dr. Burks completed his undergraduate studies at Dallas Baptist University and Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University. Dr. Burks completed his Doctor of Education Leadership with Trident University International. His research interests lie in behavioral sciences, Educational Leadership styles, and program growth and outcomes.
Dr. Burks lives in the DFW metroplex and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys traveling, local and abroad, road trips, good food, both eating and cooking.

If you have not yet registered, please make sure you have registered for the 2024-2025 School Year! In-district families need to log into Skyward and complete the 24-25 online registration or click the link below. If you are new to the district, you'll need to come on campus to register.
