SIXTH GRADE CHRISTMAS SHOP FOR STUDENTS & BENEFITS SEVERAL ORGANIZATIONS TOO!
The Annual Sixth Grade Christmas Shop was a great success! It requires students to work as a team to create a business plan, marketing strategies, and products to sell. These young entrepreneurs complete a financial report with profits being donated to charity. This year, the students raised $2,000 and they decided to gift the following charities $500 each: Casa Juan Diego, Houston SPCA, Cici's Foundation, and the Melinda Webb School for the Deaf. Way to go!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR GR 8 STUDENTS & PARENTS
The first round of high school application dates are quickly approaching. Below are important updates and guidance for what comes next:
Upcoming Dates: Application Deadlines
- December 15th: St. Pius (Priority admissions)
- December 16th: Duchesne Academy, IWA, and St. Agnes
- January 15th: St. John XXIII, St. Pius, St. Thomas, Strake Jesuit
Parents/Student Responsibilities
Parents/Students must complete the school application online through your student portals. In addition, parents will need to pay the application fee. Mrs. Saunders has created folders with each student's documents. These folders include 6th and 7th grade report cards, NWEA testing results for 5th to 7th grade, and the scores at the beginning of the year 8th grade. Mrs. Saunders will send these folders to all parents by December 6 so you have a copy. You can choose to upload these documents yourself to your portals. In addition, she will send these documents directly to the admissions department for the schools your student wishes to apply to in an effort to ensure that they receive the documentation they need. Parents will also need to upload their child's ISEE scores if they are not retaking the ISEE.
What do we need from you?
Please turn in all TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS permission slips to Mrs. Saunders no later than December 6. Transcripts cannot be released to the high schools until we have these signed documents. Please email them to me: tiffany.saunders@sttheresa.cc. One request from every school your child is applying to is required.
Supporting Documents from the School
Teacher recommendations and transcripts from the first semester grades are not due until January 15th for Duchesne Academy, IWA, and St. Agnes. The remainder of the schools have a due date of January 31st. So you will see that those records are still outstanding until the first week of January when we return from break. Please note we are aware these documents will show up missing until then. We cannot send these documents until the first semester grades are finalized. These documents will be directly sent from STCS.
ISEE Retest Date
STCS will offer a retest date for ISEE on Saturday, January 11th. This falls within the Winter testing window. Schools will still accept updated ISEE scores until then. Our registration EVENT CODE: HYHQGBH8. You must arrive at school no later than 8:30AM so we can settle into testing. Testing will start promptly at 9:00AM and last until approximately noon. No accommodation testing will be provided for this testing session. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the front of the school. Please reach out to Mrs. Saunders if you have any questions.
IMPORTANT FRIENDLY REMINDER: EARLY PICK-UPS & CARPOOL NOTIFICATIONS
As the hectic holiday season gets into full swing, we kindly ask all parents to email their child(ren)'s homeroom teacher(s) AND the Front Office (frontoffice@sttheresa.cc) if you need to pick up your child(ren) early and/or with any carpool or Kidventure changes. Thank you in advance for your help!

For new applicants, the application deadline to be considered for admission in our first round of decisions for the 2025-2026 school year is Friday, January 31, 2025.
