Our 7th graders wrapped up their reading of A Christmas Carol with a trip to Beef & Boards to watch the live performance! These students did an amazing job and really enjoyed their trip!

NJHS members assembled Christmas goodie bags for the Encore Senior Citizen center.

During Christmas break, these 7th and 8th-grade students will be volunteering their time at Second Blessings as well as the Encore Senior Citizens Center.

The 6th graders have been meeting their 3rd grade penpals this week! The 6th grade students also created games to play with their PenPals!

Sixth grade students have been working on writing short stories in their ELA class. Students created a main character, brainstormed elements of plot for their stories, and then chose to either type out a short story or to create a short story comic. We have a lot of very creative thinkers in 6th grade! Students did a great job!

The Tipton FFA partnered with another local FFA family to continue to make an impact in the Tipton Community through a National FFA Living to Serve Grant. The grant’s purpose is to help provide meat and produce to the local Good Shepherd Food Pantry. Through a partnership with a local FFA family, the FFA members were able to make their second donation of needed meat - 152 pounds of sausage. Since August, the Tipton FFA members have been able to donate 495 pounds of meat, 157 gallon bags of greens from the tower gardens and over 50 pounds of fresh produce to the local food pantry. A special thanks goes to our partner families, the families of Toby Ripberger and Blair Dunn, for your willingness to work with the FFA to make an impact in Tipton.

Educators (and anyone who works in a school) do so because they love helping students grow into successful adults. We share in their triumphs and cry with them in their hardships. Working with young people is a passion. I am so proud of the team of adults we have working with our students at TMS!

One responsibility we take very seriously is the physical and emotional safety of our students. We know that to grow and learn, students need to feel safe. We have numerous drills and procedures that help us in ensuring the safety of our students. When situations arise, we always reflect on what happened and ask, "Could we have done this better?" We strive to create a learning environment that allows all students the best space to learn!

I am asking for your help in keeping our students safe!

Talk with your children about reporting (telling an adult that something bad is happening) versus snitching (telling an adult to get someone in trouble). Many students don't want to be a "snitch". However, they also don't want the vaping and threats on the school. We have an online reporting tool that can be found under the Student tab on our website.

Four County is now offering FREE, VIRTUAL Parent Educator Support workshops

every 2nd Thursday of the month from 4:00PM - 5:00PM.

Parenting workshops are not just for young or inexperienced parents; they're for everyone who wants to become a better parent. All parents are welcome to join! Education topics will include:

December 9- Understanding ADHD and learning how to work with these children

January 13- Understanding Trauma and how it impacts children

February 10- Importance of structure and limits: Setting and enforcing rules in the home

March 10- Sleep routines for kids/turning off electronics and how it impacts school

When parents increase their level and quality of interactions with their children, children become better prepared for school and personal success in life. By attending these workshops, parents will be able to stay up-to-date on the newest and most effective parenting techniques & connect with other parents that are experiencing similar situations to form a supportive network.
