Welcome Back Wildcats!
Drop Off: Drop off will be from 7:35am - 7:55am in front of the old gym, 8am is the start of our school day. When students arrive, they can go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast or go to the North side of the high school to wait for the 1st-hour bell. If students drive to school, they are to exit their vehicles once they have parked on campus. Students are not allowed to go to their vehicles during the school day.
Pickup: School releases at 3:30 pm. Car riders are to be picked up in front of the old gym.
Communicating with Staff: Our staff is available to speak with parents during their planning period. If a message for a staff member is left after their planning period, it could be the following school day before a call is returned. All staff members have different planning periods. If you wish to email our staff, all email addresses are on the Bethel High School website. Please do not communicate with staff via social media or text messages about school matters. Our staff are here from 7:35 am - 3:35 pm, after that time calls or emails will be returned the following school day.
Handbooks: Handbook meetings were held on August 22nd. The administrators went over any changes and answered questions. Students were each given a copy of the handbook and were asked to return the signature page to their 3rd-hour teachers.
Parking Permit: If your student drives to school, they must have a parking permit hanging from their rearview mirror. Your student can pick up the paperwork from Mrs. Taron in the high school office.

CPN College and Career Fair
The Citizen Potawatomi Nation would like to invite you to the Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s annual College and Career Fair on Wednesday, September 4th from 9:30 to 12:30 at Firelake Arena 18145 Old Rangeline Road, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Registration for students will open Monday, August 11th.

Oklahoma County College Night at UCO
GPACAC has partnered with StriveScan again this semester to host in-person college fairs across our region. One of those fairs is being held at the University of Central Oklahoma!

We have a great variety of colleges and universities that will be in attendance.

OU Teacher Bound registration is now open!
OU Teacher Bound​ will take place on Friday, September 27 at 8:00 AM, and we want to see you and your students there!
Have your students join us at the University of Oklahoma’s Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education for an informative and engaging event designed specifically for Oklahoma high school students interested in pursuing a teaching degree. This day in the life experience offers an immersive glimpse into the vibrant community and academic excellence that awaits students at OU.

Gates Scholarship
The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.
Award
Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the Student Aid Index, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the methodology used by a Scholar’s college or university.
*Cost of attendance includes tuition, fees, room, board, books, and transportation, and may include other personal costs.
Basic Eligibility
To apply, students must be:
- A high school senior
- From at least one of the following ethnicities: African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian & Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American
- Pell-eligible
- A US citizen, national, or permanent resident
- In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
Additionally, a student must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university.
*For American Indian/Alaska Native, proof of tribal enrollment will be required.
Ideal Candidate
An ideal candidate will have:
- An outstanding academic record in high school (in the top 10% of his/her graduating class)
- Demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)
- Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)

Wildcat Homecoming: A Smash Hit
Homecoming will be the week of September 16 - 19th. The homecoming ceremony will be held before the football game on September 20, 2024. There are daily dress-up days for our students to participate in every day. Please see the dress-up day schedule below.

Flyers are available outside Mrs. Ingmire's office. Paper applications are also available in the counseling office. Juniors can now apply! Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2024.
ACT INFORMATION
Up to 4 fee waivers can be used for eligible 11th and 12th grade students. Please see Mrs. Ingmire about fee waiver eligibility.
*Juniors will be given a free ACT at Bethel High School in the spring. This test is part of graduation requirements for our Juniors.
