Growing Together @ STL

Leadership Message
STL Choir - Voices of Angels
Bravo to each member of our amazing STL Choir led by our fantastic Mrs. Marple. They served beautifully at our Ash Wednesday Mass and had extra songs to sing during the distribution of ashes. They launched the Lenten Season for OLPH Catholic School and Holy Redeemer Catholic School who also joined us for mass. Thank you for your excellent Music Ministry! It was wonderful to celebrate with so many St. Luke families who came to OLPH church to begin Lent together!
New Buddy Bench
Thank you to Strathcona Youth Justice who donated a beautiful hand-made Buddy Bench to St. Luke. It is currently located in the main entrance for everyone to see. As a school team we will find it a permanent home. Thank you Strathcona Youth Justice.
Blast from the Past
Staff and Students really dove into our Back to the 80s theme this past week! Thanks to our Grade 2&3 class for picking a great theme! Together we learned a few 80s dance moves, had an 80s dance party during our GIFT assembly and saw a sea of neon throughout the school! It was also a great day for St. Luke's RCMP Peace Office to stop by!
School Council Meeting on Monday @ 6pm
We look forward to seeing you next week for our School Council Meeting, March 10 @ 6:00pm. Some of the great topics include: a community building event, school fees, new programming coming to St. Luke and so much more! We hope to see you there! Oh, and snacks! Did we say there will be snacks - as well as childcare!
Please follow this link to join virtually!! https://meet.google.com/gug-bhkw-bky
Evidence of Learning
This week your child will be coming home with their Evidence of Learning Portfolios. They will either be hard copies or in digital form. These portfolios are launching points for Three Way Conferences and they serve as concrete examples of the concepts your child has been learning, and evidence of their growth. You are encouraged to take time before conferences to review the Evidence of Learning with your child to celebrate how far they've come and together explore next steps in learning.
Parental engagement in a child's learning is one of the key factors that influence a child's learning success. Thank you for setting aside some time for your child to proudly show you their hard work this year!
If you have any questions about your child's Evidence of Learning, please reach out to their teacher(s).
Starting Monday - Book Your Three Way Conferences!
Please check your inbox for an email on Monday for instructions on how to reserve your Three Way Conference with your child's teacher(s). Your child's teacher will be available either/both Tuesday, March 18th or Wednesday, March 19th.
Have an amazing Week!

You were sent an email with instructions to access the Alberta Education Assurance Survey. It calls for you to log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal to access your Random Access Code for the survey.
This survey is for Alberta Education, and your feedback from it is further data for St. Luke to determine it's future programming direction and short as well as long term goals.
