• We hope that everyone enjoyed Spring Break and had a chance to make some great memories. Our office was closed which allowed us to have a break too and I know we all enjoyed it.
• Good news! There is a new deadline for yearbooks. Yearbooks are prepay for $20.00 and available to be purchased through Candid Color. Visit www.candidcolor.net; Enter the code: RREYBK24. The NEW deadline for yearbooks is April 12, 2024.
• As a reminder, Monday, April 8 is an Early Release Day due to the solar eclipse. We will close at 12:40 p.m. Please let us know of any dismissal changes, but it really helps if you follow the regular dismissal plan. Please make sure your student uses appropriate eye wear if they view the eclipse.
• Wednesday, April 10, 2024, is a school holiday in honor of Eid al-Fitr. We wish a Happy Eid to all of our families who celebrate this day.
• Our Mission Laser Spirit Night was so much fun and a great turn out! I did not lose which was my goal, but I was tagged the most in the game I played. Thank you to "Hulk" for tagging me a lot!
• We look forward to seeing many of you at the Awards Assemblies this week. Report cards will be sent home on Friday and they may contain a summer school invitation letter.
• There are eight weeks left this year and they will be very busy with programs, field trips, field day, Fun Run, and SOL testing all while we continue to teach every day, all day long. Thank you for all of the support!

• It is time again for families to complete the annual Title I Survey. We use this information to support all of our students and families through out Title I Funds. For example, we review your input to plan our Family Engagement events.
• The Title I Family Engagement survey closes on May 31, 2024 and is available in six languages. Please use this survey link or the QR code to complete the survey. Thanks so much!

In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, we will have the following Spirit Days:

• Monday, April 8: Wear an Autism Awareness shirt or wear blue.
• Tuesday, April 9: Dress up to show something you love or are passionate about.
• Wednesday, April 10: Wear rainbow or tie dye colors in recognition of neurodiversity while at home.
• Thursday, April 11: Wear your comfiest clothes or pjs to support those with sensory issues.
• Friday, April 12: Dress up as your favorite Pokemon character in honor of the creator of Pokemon who has autism.

• The clinic is in need of boys' underwear sizes 4t/5t and XL and girls' underwear sizes 4 and 6. There is also a need for pants for both boys and girls or gender neutral size 7/8.
  

• Awards assemblies will be held right after Spring Break on April 11 and 12. Patience will be needed due to the shorter transition time between assemblies in the afternoons. The schedule is tight since we have April 10 as a holiday. It will help if students do not leave school after the awards this time.

Reams Road Fun Run fundraiser for our school kicks off on 04/24/2024! We’re excited for this year’s fitness and character-building fundraiser! The school’s goal is to raise $10,000 for PTA programs and grade-level field trips.

• Please share that Kindergarten Registration is open. Parents should begin with the Kindergarten CCPS Website. We will have registration appointments for Wednesday, April 17 from 8:00 a.m.-5:45 p.m. The Sign Up Genius for appointments will be shared when registration is received. Current Pre-K students do not register online.
• Do you have a child that will be four-years-old by September 30th, 2024? Please apply for the PreK program for the upcoming school year! We are currently accepting applications. Go to https://www.oneccps.org/page/prekindergarten, check out the flyer, or call the PreK office at 804-706-6061 to apply!
  

• The week before Spring Break saw a drop in attendance with two out of four days at 95% attendance and two lower than 95%. There are eight weeks left this school year. We hope to finish strong with attendance.
• Students who are considered chronically absent may receive an attendance letter with the report card. Please remember all absences add up and even excused absences may cause a student to be considered chronically absent.

• We will once again partner with the Richmond Flying Squirrels to encourage reading at Reams. Students will read books and note completion on a bookmark.

Reading Program Info:

• Students will receive a free ticket to a Richmond Flying Squirrels game after 8 books read.

• Bookmarks were sent home and will need to be returned by April 8.

• Students will be able to attend the game on May 15th.

• Parents will be able to purchase tickets to attend the game for $6.00.

• Parents and students attend the game together. Transportation from Reams is not provided.

• Finding Nemo, Disney Musical, will be performed on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
• Tickets are now available through our PTA's Memberhub portal. Tickets are $5.00. The purchase of tickets helps us fund the musical for next year.
  

• Our Spring Field Day will be on Friday, April 19, 2024. Check out the flyer from Coach A. We will need volunteers to make this a success so please put it on your calendar! Volunteers need to make sure they are approved before participating.

The School Year 2023-2024 Indicator 8 Parent Involvement Survey collection period has begun for special education. This survey is for families of students receiving special education services. The online survey is the preferred method of submission and is available at:

You may also use the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) flyer to use the QR code. You may request a paper copy as well. The survey closes December 13, 2024.

• On Monday, April 29, 2024 from 4:30p-7:30p, the CCPS Mental Health Support Specialist Team will be hosting, in conjunction with our FACE office, SPRING INTO WELLNESS, a mental health resource fair for everyone! There will be over 30 vendors present. This event is for EVERYONE! Pizza will be provided for attendees and there will be family focused fun activities. It will be held at CTC@Hull from 4:45-7:15 p.m.

• There will also be some fun competition involved... The elementary, middle, and high school with the highest participation will receive $500 to spend on anything related to mental health curriculum items for your counseling department.

PTA Booster Fun Run is coming!

• The kick off for our Fun Run fundraiser which is always fun will be on April 24 and the Fun Run is on May 3. Please put this date on your calendar! The theme is World Changers.

PTA Meeting:

• Our next P.T.A. meeting will be Tuesday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting link will be shared with the board and other interested PTA members. Please email Mrs. Seitz or Reams PTA to receive the link. It often doesn't work and we have to resend it at the beginning of the meeting.
