Dear Ms. Reynolds & Ms. Shrote:

Congratulations on an incredible performance yesterday evening at the University of Georgia 34th annual Middle School Band Festival (MidFest). Taylor Road MS was one of two bands selected statewide to perform for this prestigious event, and it was clear to everyone last night that UGA chose wisely. Your performance was prepared, professional, and engaging for a capacity audience of 1,200 top middle school band students from across Georgia, along with their band directors. I was speaking to many teachers afterwards, and Taylor Road is the “talk of the town” for how great your students performed, as well as the quality and variety of the repertoire. It was also so nice to see the 6-12 collaboration with Mr. Garofalo as guest conductor and performer.

We are lucky to have you both in Fulton County Schools. I know your students and their families appreciate all your hard work and expertise, which allows your students to have these amazing experiences. Thank you for all you do!

6 Autism Support students participated in Special Olympics at Stars & Strikes on December 10th. A big thank you to Coach Richardson, our adapted PE coach, for getting our students ready to bowl! There were quite a few strikes and spares! A great time was had by all. Go Taylor Road!

Our TRMS Junior Beta Club has had a very busy holiday season. At the November meeting, the club created about 250 Candy Cane crafts and cards with sweet sentiments to distribute to our local assisted living homes in the Johns Creek and Milton areas. In December, the Jr. Betas collected more than 150 toys and made gift tags for the Foster Care Kids program, associated with the Fulton County Department of Family and Children’s Services. We are grateful to our parent volunteers and those that support the club. Happy Holidays! Ms. Willis and Ms. Maples
