...and just like that, it's February!

This month I will be out, I will be taking a short leave of absence to recover.

I have focused this month's SMORE on providing as many resources as I can to ensure that you have access to everything you may need.

When I get back, we have a lot to look forward to, book fair will be here and we have an author visit lined up for our second-fifth graders, and more READ posters!

I wanted to take a moment to share some of the amazing resources that we have access to. Throughout the year, I have spotlit a different digital resource each month in my monthly library SMORE. I have included a video each month showing how to access the resource and highlighting some of the resources key features.

At the very bottom of this SMORE you have access to all the past SMORE's where you can find the videos.

Also, don't forget about BookBreaks.org!

Want something to do during your library time, view one of the upcoming author chats (there's one about Harriet Tubman) or check out one of the past recordings. It is a district goal that all students view at least 4 author chats this year. See this month's lineup below.

The spring book fair is coming!

The book fair flyers will be going out a little later than normal. Flyers will be handed out when I return.

Michael Rex is coming to the Glenn Library to talk with 2nd-5th graders. He is scheduled to have two presentations that afternoon. Schedule to come!

Teachers please be sure to hand out the book sale flyer. Please let students know that Michael Rex will be visiting. If they would like to purchase a book for him to sign they can go online and complete a book order. All orders must be done online by Friday, February 14th!

Also, teachers please take the time to read one of Michael's books prior to his visit.

I have placed book orders and am including any books that have been requested in planning that we currently do not have. I will be placing a couple more orders and would like to see if you have any suggestions.

During the month of December and January, I decided to offer a little treat for taking the time to read my library SMORE. Above you will see the December winners, Mrs. Silva was a repeat winner! In December they each won a $5 Starbucks gift card and a $10 Scholastic gift certificate to spend at our Spring Book Fair! In January, Mrs. Silva was my only entry and she won a $10 Chick-Fil-A Gift card.

As a token of appreciation, I want to gift two people a $5 Whataburger gift card just for taking the time to read my SMORE.
