Enhanced Learning Days
ELD Expectations and Guidelines
What are Enhanced Learning Days (ELDs)?
Enhanced Learning Days (ELDs) provide GCA teachers a unique opportunity to utilize a combination of asynchronous and live instruction to meet the academic needs of students. Students will log into Canvas, complete asynchronous work, and meet with their teachers if needed for support.
So what does this mean?
While this day means school is asynchronous, students are still expected to log into Canvas at 8:00 am, just like a normal school day. However, instead of being in live classes, students must complete classwork assigned to them within Canvas. Attendance is taken, and if a student is not logged into Canvas during ELD, they are counted as absent for the day. Make sure to log in and complete work assigned! Students are also welcome to attend the optional Open Office Hours held by their teachers, which will be accessible in the Canvas Calendar and will follow the schedule posted above. Below are student non-negotiable expectations, as well as optional expectations for students to do.
Now what?
- Review your grades in each of your classes
- Look at what assignments are due for ELD
- Figure out if you could use some help in any of your classes, and see what time that Open Office session will be held
- Get ready for a fabulous asynchronous day!
