Vital Behaviors for Success at LHS
Our Daily Practice
Everyday at LHS we ask ourselves, "Are we doing what is best for our students?" We live by our "why" which is, "We are committed to accepting, developing, and advocating for our students, while empowering them with the confidence, skills and resilience to thrive and overcome future challenges as adults."
To accomplish this, our faculty and staff worked together to establish 5 Vital Behaviors we all need to be successful at school and in life. Like your physical vital signs—heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, and body temperature; if your vital behaviors are weak, you may fail. The 5 Vital Behaviors are:
Attendance (Be Here Physically & Mentally)
Positive Attitude (Attitude is Everything)
Productivity (Do the Work & Do Your Best)
Cooperation (Work Together)
Civility (Honor, Dignity, and Kindness)
These principles are embedded into our school culture. We are committed to doing our best for students.
Dragon Day of Service
Monday, January 13 wlll be a day of service where students have an opportunity to help our community. We will have various projects throughout the day that students can sign up for to help complete. We will be serving at the Utah Food Bank in Springville, helping out teachers at Riverview Elementary, creating burp cloths, warm hats, pajama pants, dog toys and more to donate to local shelters and hospitals.
The purpose of our Day of Service is to inspire and empower students to make a positive impact in their community by fostering a spirit of collaboration, compassion, and responsibility. Through meaningful service projects, students will develop a deeper understanding of community needs, strengthen relationships, and practice the values of empathy, leadership, and active citizenship. This day serves as an opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world action, cultivating a lifelong commitment to service and the well-being of others.
