We are excited to celebrate our Veterans on Friday, November 8th since November 11 is a student holiday. We will have a special guest at our morning assembly sharing about what it means to be a Veteran, and our students will show our gratitude by placing a US flag in our front lawn. If you are a Veteran, we are honored to invite you to be a part of our morning assembly on Friday, November 8. We will also be recognizing our Veterans during our Grandparents Day programs later this month.

We will have picture re-takes with Lifetouch photography on November 18th. If you are not 100% satisfied with your child's pictures, please send any pictures that you purchased back in and have your child take their picture re-take.

We have several more opportunities for families to join us this November. See below for more information about our family night, Shady Shores STEM & Book Fair night that will be on November 19th, our Thanksgiving Feast on November 21st, and our Grandparents Day programs that will be on November 22nd.

You are invited to join us for our Thanksgiving Feast on November 21st during your child's lunch time. Our amazing child nutrition department serves a delicious meal. Any family members joining us for lunch will need to purchase tickets in advance. The meal price is $5 and tickets can be purchased in the front office. Please RSVP here.

What is Grandparents Day program? It is a tradition at SSE dating back to the first days of SSE. We invite all of our students’ Grandparents and family members to a special performance by our students. Please see below for your child’s specific performance time.

If grandparents or other family members will be coming for lunch without you and are not listed as an emergency contact for your child, please contact the front office prior to lunch time so we can ensure they don't miss any precious lunchtime.

Shady Shores Elementary PTA is excited to kick off our Turkey Feathers fundraiser from November 18th-22nd! Feathers are just $0.25 each and will be sold during lunch. Students can add feathers to their grade-level or staff team’s turkey, with a fun prize on the line! The grade with the most feathers will see their teachers dance in turkey costumes at the assembly! All funds raised will support our Reindeer Games event, bringing holiday joy and excitement to our school.

We LOVE having dads, grandpas, uncles, etc... at SSE during our day! To be a WATCH D.O.G.S., you can volunteer many times or even just 1 day. We appreciate extra help in our car line in the mornings and at lunch. Or volunteer on your child's birthday and make their day extra special!
