Panther Weekly
August 5 - August 11
Welcome Back to School
School Starts at 7:15am
Let's Start the Year Safe - Drop off and Pick up at Parkview
- Students, please only park in your assigned spot, if you do not have a parking pass, please do not park on the Parkview campus. Cars parked illegally will be ticket or towed.
- Parents, please only drop your students off in the designated drop spots in our carpool lines. There are two lines, one on the side of Building A on the Camp Creek side and one on Panther Drive near the stadium. Do not pull into the teacher or student parking lots to drop students.
- Please follow the instructions of all parking attendants and staff as they direct you through campus. We all are working to make this time run as smooth as possible.
- Please stop at all crosswalks and stop signs on campus. The county has installed speed bumps to help slow vehicles in danger areas.
- Please do not make a left when you are leaving campus during drop off or pick up. This causes traffic to back up both at the school and on Cole Dr. and it creates dangerous situations for buses and other vehicles traveling on Cole Dr.
Where Can I See My Bus Information
- On the StudentVue/ParentVue app select the student who's information you would like to see
- Click on "Student information"
- There you will find the address of the assigned bus stop, the bus number for the AM and PM routes, and the estimated time of pickup and arrival
It is a good idea to be at your stop at least 15 minutes early the first few weeks of school while the routes are being adjusted.
Scholastic Images Will Be On Campus August 19th
Visit Scholastic Images in the cafeteria if you are interested in purchasing a letter jacket, class ring, or need to pay senior dues. They will be on campus every month to answer questions and take orders.
Junior Class Meeting - Class of 2026
During All Advisements
Juniors are invited to meet with scholastic images during their advisement period on August 13th. They will learn about Senior dues, ordering their cap and gowns, class rings and letterman jackets.
2024-2025 Parent/Student To Do List
Bus stops are determined by the address that is on file at the school. You will only be able to ride the bus that is assigned to you at your address.
- On the Parent Portal select the student you want to view
- Click on "ParentVue"
- Click on "Student information"
- There you will find the address of the assigned bus stop, the bus number for the AM and PM routes, and the estimated time of pickup and arrival
- Back to School orientation forms are now available in ParentSquare. Please click here to complete your student's orientation form before your open house date.
- Update your student's personal and emergency contact information online in the parent portal under my account.
- If updating your student's address, you will need to submit an updated lease or mortgage statement along with a bill to the school via email to: Julie.Whritenour@gcpsk12.org or if you have a residency affidavit, please call the registrar for an appointment. For accepted documents please see the Required Documents section.
- GCPS Transportation uses the address that is on file with the county to assign busses, so we must have your correct address on file. Bus Transportation information, including student bus numbers and estimated pick up and drop off times can be found in the Parent Portal or StudentVue App under Student Info.
- If you have moved and no longer live in the Parkview attendance district, please contact the school so your student can be withdrawn and enrolled in their new school.
- If your student has specific medical needs, visit the clinic page on our website and review the medication policy. Email our clinic specialist Ms. Sonia Garcia, Sonia.Garcia@gcpsk12.org for any questions.
- If your student is planning on eating school lunch, please make sure you have added funds to their School Nutrition Account through MyPayments Plus.
- If your student is planning on trying out for or joining any of our athletic teams please make sure to have all of the required documents uploaded and signed on Rank One. GCPS uses Rank One for physical forms and eligibility requirements. Click here for instructions on getting started with Rank One. Athletes need to have a current physical to try out/participate in any sport.
