It is very important that students are in school before 8:15 to begin their academic day.

Make sure that individuals authorized to check your student out of school are listed on the student registration form and remind them to have their photo identification.

Students cannot be checked out after 2:00pm.

Dismissal begins at 2:45pm.

According to the most recent data from United Way Atlanta, more than 500,000 of Greater Atlanta’s 1.2 million children and youth live in areas of high need, where measures of child well-being are significantly lower than their neighbors’.

Your neighborhood is likely within a few miles of children, youth, and families who need our support. United Way’s latest Child Well-Being Index shows that 79 neighborhoods across the Greater Atlanta region are among the most in need and are also in a state of declining child well-being compared to just a few years ago. As a result, 77,000 children in these circumstances will either be at risk or lifted up to achieve their full potential through equitable access to health care, education, housing, and healthy food.eing are significantly lower than their neighbors’.

Families,

Health Management Plans: Students that have medical conditions that require monitoring or medications such as asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, severe allergies, seizures, etc. will need a health management plan completed by the parent/guardian. Allergy, Asthma, and Diabetic Plans require a physician’s signature and require more than one form to be completed..

Please make sure all emergency contact numbers and emails are up to date.

Make sure all medical conditions for your child are listed in Synergy.

Check-Out Policy: The clinic is available for illnesses and injuries that occur during school hours. If a student is too ill to remain at school a parent/guardian will be contacted to pick the student up.

Medications: The following guidelines must be adhered to for the safety of all students.

• All medications - prescription and over-the counter must be brought to the clinic by the parent and the medication must be in its original container.
• Administration of Medication form must be accompanied with each medication.
• No student should be carrying any medications in the school building.
• All medications in the clinic must be picked up by the parent at the end of the school year. Any medications left in the clinic after that time will be disposed.

Students in Grades PreK - 2nd should keep a change of clothes in their book bags daily.

Safety is always our greatest concern. Your child's teacher, the clinic and the cafeteria staff need to know if you child has any food allergies and/or restrictions. If there are certain foods that your child cannot have because they have had or could have an allergic reaction to, please send written notice to your child's teacher and Ms. Carr in the clinic. The cafeteria staff will need doctor notification of this allergy as well. If your child has diet restrictions due to vegetarian and/or religious choice, please send a note to Ms. Harge in the cafeteria. Our clinic and cafeteria staff are very mindful of this information and always want to have the most accurate and up to date information. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

REGISTERING STUDENTS

It is a FREE program offered at all Gwinnett elementary schools.

Looking for children ages birth to 5 years to be a part of our Play 2 Learn program. Class is comprised of 20 students enrolled. Please see Ms. Lindsay (Family Engagement Center) to register your child.

Our main goal of this program:

• Build the capacity in parents to be their child's first teacher
• Expose children to a high quality school environment
• Provide social opportunities for children
• Increase access to books and resources for children and parents

(an adult must stay with child during the class)

Must provide:

• copy of birth certificate
• must reside in Gwinnett County
• two proofs of residency
• identification of enrolling parent
• P2L enrollment form completed

These items must be submitted before your child can start the program.

Our Play 2 Learn@home website is filled with exciting read-alouds, easy ideas for activities at home, and important early learning resources.

We want to raise awareness and highlight the following key points:

Gwinnett County Public Schools finds that the quickest and most effective way to resolve a concern regarding your child is by addressing it at the most direct level.

In our school district, we care about each and every student, and believe that open and honest communication between parents and teachers is a key to student success. Thank you for partnering with your child’s teacher and school to address any concerns.

1. Teacher - First, talk to your child’s teacher or a counselor at school for assistance. Most concerns are resolved at the classroom level.
2. Assistant Principal - If the concern is not resolved at the classroom level, please visit with your child’s assistant principal.
3. Principal - If working with the AP does not adequately address the issue, please meet with the school principal.
4. Cluster Superintendent - If the issue persists, please call 678-301-6000, and ask to speak to the cluster superintendent who is assigned to the school your child attends.
5. Chief of Schools - If, after following steps one through four, your concern has not been resolved to your satisfaction, please contact the Chief of Schools for School Improvement and Operations.

Get one-on-one tutoring in any math, science, social studies, and English subject. Tutor.com covers 40 subjects, including AP courses.

Live tutoring support is available daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. In addition, students can upload a document 24/7 for tutor feedback that will be reviewed and returned later.
