Oak Leaf Weekly Update
River Oak Charter School
Community Letter
June 2, 2022
Dear ROCS Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter to notify you of my resignation at the end of June. I have the deepest affection for our students, staff and community, and being part of the ROCS Team has been a privilege and honor. As we close out the year, I remain focused on the management and operations of River Oak, and I plan to support the onboarding of your new school leader.
In spite of the year’s challenges related to COVID, such as staffing uncertainty and post pandemic student learning and behavior, I have certainly learned more than I ever expected from the time I have given to the school. As a lifelong learner, I appreciate the opportunities River Oak has provided me, and all of the moments, laughs, challenges, successes and special events.
This year we’ve had the opportunity to build upon River Oak’s strengths and unify the vision of the school. As we moved out of COVID with a newly formed staff and student culture, what I hold dear to my heart and will always remember is the dedication of the school community to its students and program.
I am proud to have been part of this year’s evolution, and I know that going forward, my heart will always have a place for the memories I have made with students, staff and families.
Thank you very much for the opportunity to grow as a school leader at River Oak, and I look forward to continuing our partnership, as I will still be part of the Mendocino County charter and private school principal's network. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me anytime.
With Gratitude,
Kristi McCullough
