From The Principal's Desk
Congratulations on your RMS Promotion, eighth-graders! Your time at Roosevelt Middle School has been a period of learning, growth, and discovery. Both as individuals and as a class, you’ve worked hard to overcome challenges and created friendships that will last well beyond the end of this school year. As a school, we will always remember how your kindness and creativity filled the classrooms, fields, and halls of our school.
Now you are ready to spread your wings and soar to new heights. Embrace the opportunities that lie ahead with courage and enthusiasm. Believe in yourselves, follow your passions, and never forget the invaluable lessons you've learned at Roosevelt.
Wherever your journey may take you, we have every confidence that you will continue to shine brightly and make a positive impact on the world around you.
We wish you everything that is good, healthy, and positive.

Spotlight Students
Roosevelt's Spotlight Students for May
Congratulations to these remarkable Roosevelt Middle School students, who were named Spotlight Students for the month of May! These students were nominated by their teachers for exemplary displays of hard work, kindness, accountability and determination. They each received certificates recognizing their accomplishments at an in-school ceremony. Well done, students!
More than 180 students were honored in our first year of the Spotlight Student program. It was a pleasure to celebrate these students, and we look forward to doing it again next year!
Congratulations to Roosevelt Middle School's Class of 2024!
On a picture-perfect day, Roosevelt Middle School proudly congratulated and promoted 268 students and wished them all the very best on their way to their high school educations. Aim high, students! Carpe Diem! And bring your toothbrush!
Field Day!!!!!
There's nothing like a Roosevelt Middle School Field Day! One day away from their Promotion Ceremony, our eighth-graders spent some well-earned quality time engaging in some fun activities and friendly competition. Dressed up in brand new Roosevelt shirts in colors that represented their floors, students took part in obstacle courses, relay races, tugs-of-war and more.
7th Grade Field Trip to Peabody Museum
Some of our 7th graders today took a field trip to Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology in Cambridge! Our students toured exhibits and connected with the research, teaching, and Indigenous engagement surrounding the cultural heritage in the museum’s care.
English Learners Celebrated for their Hard Work
End of the school year = many events. And this time it was our English Learners being celebrated. Hoy celebramos a los estudiantes que están aprendiendo inglés.
Students worked hard on the ACCESS exam to show proficiency in English and as a result, received awards for their achievements. Some even scored high enough to exit the program.
Congratulations to all!! Felicidades a todos!
CBIP End of the Year Celebration
The end of the school year is a time to celebrate hard work and accomplishments, and that's exactly what students in our CBIP program did last week! Students and staff headed to the sports field for some fun in the sun in recognition of all the advancements students made this year. Well done!
Field Trip to Hazelwood Park
You don't have to go far to have a fun time in a beautiful park in our neighborhood! Students from our SA Program took a field trip today to Hazelwood Park.
Soccer Day for students in Newcomer Program
Students in our Newcomer Program at Roosevelt Middle School had a special day to themselves on our field recently to take part in a friendly soccer game. The Newcomer Program helps new arrivals adapt to their new environment while learning a new language. These students work very hard and received a well-deserved period of fun under beautiful skies at RMS.

General Information
About the Aspen Family Portal
The Family Portal feature in Aspen provides families with access to their student’s attendance, contact information, report cards, and grades. Aspen is a secure, Web-based student information management system. Aspen protects students' information with the same advanced technology banks use to protect financial accounts. The Family Portal has been carefully configured to ensure that your student’s information is confidential and can only be retrieved by you – the parent/guardian – authorized school personnel, and students themselves.
How to access the Aspen Family Portal
Aspen is easy to navigate. The data is secure and can’t be edited, so feel free to explore. Logon information, including usernames and passwords, were sent to families earlier this year. If you need another copy, email Jonathan Root, the Technology Integration Manager at Roosevelt Middle School: jroot@newbedfordschools.org
