I hope everyone had an amazing weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

It's hard to believe that less than 30 days of school remain. On the horizon are testing administration, awards events, and end-of-year procedures.

As part of Team BMS, we thank you for having conversations with your students and reminding them of the importance of working hard to demonstrate mastery and earn promotion.

Milestones testing dates for the end of the year have been announced. Please ensure that your child is here and ready to test on the dates below. For more information about Georgia Milestones or any other test administered in GCPS, please refer to the Accountability and Assessment webpage.

• Do you have access to the Parent Portal?
• Do you have a My Payments Plus account?
• Have you applied for Free and/or Reduced Lunch, if applicable?
• Do you know when and where your child can go to get additional instructional support?
• Do you know where you can check out materials/resources to use at home with your student?
• Do you know how to become a volunteer in our school?

If you answered no to any of these questions, please make an Appointment with Pilar Silva, our Parent Instructional Coordinator, in the BMS Parent Center.

You can visit our website regularly if you want to stay informed about our school's programs, upcoming events, and announcements. We update the website frequently to Encourage growth, collaboration, and communication between Berkmar Middle School and the families we serve.

We know that families want easy access and one, go-to location for need-to-know information about their student's education— from records to resources. Just as important, you want an easy way to stay in touch with the school. The Updated Parent Portal gives parents access to grades, assignments, and communication with teachers. The Parent Portal gives families a direct line to the classroom, with 24/7 real-time information and anytime, anywhere access, with in-portal translation in multiple languages. And that's just the beginning.
