Week at a Glance
September 16 - September 20

Link Crew had some fun and discussed how they will support freshmen at their next meeting.
From the Principal's Office
Greetings Aztecs,
As we head into the last week before Fall break we have a few reminders. Take advantage of time in class, Magic Center and on-site resources to support academic and social emotional wellbeing. We have many opportunities this week to connect with school, so make sure to read about the events and attend. When we return from break, it will be time for Homecoming festivities where we will connect with school traditions and alumni. Some of the best memories of your high school experience will take place that week.
We are proud of the many initiatives implemented over the last few years since our WASC visit in February of 2022. WASC visits are held to ensure excellence in schools through an accreditation process. At that last visit we received the highest ranking coming out of COVID. This year marks our mid cycle review, and we need your feedback. Students, parents, and school staff please click on this survey to give your thoughtful feedback. If you need some reminders maybe you can find some of those initiatives mentioned in this and previous WAAG communications. Parents this is a great opportunity to ask your kids what new measures do we have over the past 3 years.
Students make sure to get some rest, find time to read for school or fun, , come watch your classmates compete, and help with chores. We hope you enjoy the 2-week break Aztecs!

From the Assistant Principals
Non-Privilege List
After Homecoming on October 14, the non-privilege list policy will change. Unexcused absences will change from 8 full day unexcused absences/48 single period unexcused absences to 3 full day unexcused absences/18 single period unexcused absences .
Current Policy Until October 14
It is very important to follow the MOH Values of Respect, Responsibility and Resiliency. Part of following those values is to follow our attendance policy and behavior guidelines.
At MOH, we implement a non-privilege list. The list is created and updated regularly based on the following:
- Discipline: Any students suspended from school will be added to the list and may roll over to the next grading period for excessive referrals to the Assistant Principal.
- Attendance: 8 full day unexcused absences/48 single period unexcused absences or 12 unexcused tardies.
Click on the link to access the list:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v46TN4iNSEfQIYnATVHMFMJ9AYOQVyo8a8jx7j9Vaio/edit?usp=sharing
Students on the list are not able to attend or buy tickets to extra curricular activities outside of the school days such as dances or athletic events.
How to Clear Your Name from the List:
For Attendance: Attend Saturday School!
Discipline: Maintain behavior reflecting our Aztec values. Students will be re-evaluated at the end of each grading period. Referrals to the Assistant Principal will impact removal from the non-privilege list. We strongly encourage you to attend Saturday School!

Our Girls JV Flag Football team picked up the first victory in program history with their win against Hoover last week.
Our Girls Golf and Tennis teams remain hit by picking up wins last week!
It’s a great time to be an Aztec. For those of you interested in Winter Sports, stay on the look-out through our athletics Instagram page for information @mohaztecathletics1. We will begin the clearing process for Winter Sports once we are back from Fall break.
Coach Martin
For Sports Clearance, we will no longer be using Register My Athlete. Instead we are with a new company called Home Campus.
As we get ready for the Fall Sports Season, you will need to get your athlete cleared to participate in tryouts.
Your student will need a physical dated after 12/1/2023 and proof of insurance. Both of these will need to be uploaded to complete the registration process.
A copy of the physical form has been attached to this message along with directions on how to complete the Home Campus registration process.
Please Click Here to register your Athlete: www.homecampus.com/login
**If you are registering as a manager, you do not need a physical - however you will need to upload a blank document to complete the registration process.
If you have any questions, please contact our Athletic Director, Coach Martin.
