Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had a wonderful week at Carleton Park. The children are continuing to show their hard work and eagerness to learn. I have been extremely proud of the friendly and kind behaviour on show this week and how the children are supportive of each other’s achievements.

A selection of Year 3 and 4 boys were lucky enough to take part in the PAT Games Football Tournament. I am very proud to say the football team won every match. Their determination and teamwork to achieve was exceptional. Well done boys!

The Student Council opened the tuck shop for this first time this academic year. The council have enjoyed planning, shopping and being a part of selling the tuck shop products. This fantastic offer helps to fund projects in school throughout the year that the student council feel will support the children in school. Thank you for all your support. The tuck shop will be open for business every Friday.

We look forward to another busy and successful week ahead. Have a fantastic weekend.

We will be collecting donations for Pontefract Food Bank from Monday 30th September until Friday 11th October. Please see below details of the preferred items. Please donate if your are able to.

To attend the disco payment must be made and in cash, children who are not ticked to come to the disco will stay in their classrooms (Years R-3) or will need to be collected at normal home-time (Years 4-6)

PARENT COUNCIL WILL BE AT THE LITTLE BLUE SHED ON THE PLAYGROUND FROM MONDAY 14TH TO TAKE PAYMENTS

Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 will have their disco in school time finishing at 3.10pm

Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 will have their disco after school finishing at 4.10pm

Come and celebrate the last day of school before half term with music and fun games!

The focus for each Headteacher Award throughout the year will be our new school values! The school values are an integral part of what we stand for at Carleton Park and are values that we believe will ensure our children are successful in not just their educational journey but life in general.

The Kindness certificates are awarded to children who have shown kindness and a caring attitude throughout the week. Children are chosen by the Student Council. Well done!

OCTOBER

• 2nd - Flu Immunisations - Whole School. Please see letter with link from NHS on our website
• 3rd - Special Lunch Menu - All children can join us for a special lunch, please see menu above. Payments will show on MCAS at the end of the day
• 7th - Heights and Weights - Year 6 - Please make sure you have retuned a form to confirm 'permission' or 'no permission' for your child (NHS run an 'opt out' system for this session)
• 14th - Reception Phonics Information session for Parents - 8.50am - 9.20am
• 14th - Parent Council will start taking payments for Halloween Disco in the 'Little Blue Shed' on the playgroud
• 15th - Y1 Phonics Information Session & Come see a Phonics Lesson for Parents (Strictly Adults Only) - 8.50am-9.45am
• 17th - In-person parent meeting with Mr Campbell for Y6 parents 1.00pm until 5.50pm
• 18th - Non-Uniform Day - Please bring a bottle, sweets, chocolate, toiletries for the tombola at the Christmas Fayre or a £1.00 donation.

• 21st - 23rd - Eco Leaders Spooky Bird House Competition open to entries
• 25th - Halloween Disco - Reception will have a party in their classroom, Year 1, 2 and 3 are in the hall from 2pm until 3pm. Year 4, 5, and 6 are in the hall from 3.10pm to 4.10pm. Tickets on sale soon. Children without tickets for the disco will stay in their classrooms or need to be collected at normal time.

KS1 and KS2 Clubs

Clubs for KS1 and KS2 run from 3.10pm to 4.10pm with the exception of Karate which finishes at 4pm

Children are collected from the Main Entrance. For outdoor activities please make sure your child brings a change of clothing to school on the day which are suitable for the activity booked.
