General
- Market Day was another success! Thanks to all who came out and supported this event! We were able to make a profit of around $3,400! Wow! Great job Grade 7 & 8 students, it was an impressive event!
- This Friday is Comfy Day! Dress up in your coziest gear to earn points for your school team! Show off your toques, slippers, Crocs, PJs, onesies, joggers, and hoodies!
- The next Middle School Pizza lunch is scheduled for Friday! $3 for 1 slice, $5 for 2. Thanks in advance for your support!
Basketball Opportunities Over the Holidays! 🏀
- Kenzie Raap & Nadia Zietsma, Grade 11 students at CCHS, are hosting a Girl’s Basketball Camp during the Christmas holidays. Check out the PDF attached below for all the details!

- 10:30 AM Performance
- Please ensure your child is dressed in their almost Sunday best for the morning performance.
- Anyone is welcome to attend the 10:30 performance (not just seniors). Speaking of seniors...have you invited your Grandparents?
- Following the daytime performance, there will be soup and buns served for seniors, provided by the Grade 7 class (and their parents)!

- The evening performance starts at 7:00 PM. Please have your K-5 children at the church by 6:45 PM and drop them off at their designated rooms:

Christmas Concert!
- Thanks to everyone who volunteered to bring treats, or help with set-up/clean-up, for Thursday's Christmas concert! Baking can be dropped off in the Langley church kitchen just before the concert, or earlier in the day. (The church will be open shortly before and after the concert dress rehearsal (which starts at 10:30 that morning) and the seniors' lunch immediately following.)
- We wish you all a joyful Christmas, and God's blessings in the new year! We so appreciate our supportive school community, as well as our amazing staff and wonderful students. We love doing what we do because... we love you. 🥰

It is a very important lesson to learn how to match the size of reaction to the size of the problem. The ability to navigate life with this skill will follow them through to adulthood. Grade 4B - Ms. Vantil
- And just like that it is the last week before Christmas holidays! We have an exciting week ahead as we gear up for our Christmas concert on Thursday evening as well as wrap up a few of our units in advance of the end of our calendar year. We also have a Comfy Day to look forward to this week Friday in addition to general Christmas excitement!
- Memory Work: No Memory Work this week, just practicing Christmas concert songs!
- Bible: This week in Bible we will be wrapping up our short unit all about King Solomon.
- Math: Our focus in Math this week will be on long division. We will learn this skill Monday and practice it throughout the week as we complete our unit problem.
- Social Studies: Given that our Social Studies unit on the Vikings has come to an end, this week we will start our new unit on the Age of Exploration. It will just be an introduction to get us excited for all we will be learning in the new year.
- Science: Continuing in our unit all about the Earth and its motions, this week we will debrief how the Earth’s revolution affects the seasons.
- ELA: We will continue reading and working with our novel Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes this week. In Writing we will be writing another paragraph, this time all about our favourite Christmas memories.
- Reading Ninjas are due today! As always, thank you again for your support! We will not be preparing a new Reading Ninjas log this week (we will do that in the new year) but I encourage the students to keep up their great reading habits also on Christmas break.

We’re also looking forward to the K-5 Christmas concert later this week. Just a reminder that Middle School students should be sitting with parents, not their classmates to ensure everyone can enjoy the performance. 🙂 Thanks! - What a success Market Day was this past week! Thank you so much for all of your support and hard work, I know that there is a lot that happens behind the scenes at home! This week is another busy and fun week! On Thursday, we will be serving lunch to the seniors following the morning Christmas concert. Thank you to everyone who is helping to make this lunch happen! Just a reminder that Middle School students who come to the evening performance should be sitting with parents, not their classmates to ensure everyone can enjoy the performance. :) Then on Friday we have comfy day and our Secret Santa!
- Memory Work: No memory work this week.
- Bible: We continue to study the life of King David while highlighting how he is a righteous king, yet one who is sinful and cannot be the Messiah.
- English: Students are working on the production of a final project connected to A Wrinkle in Time. On Friday, we will watch the movie adaptation.
- Math: The class is working in pairs to create games focused on decimals and fractions. These should be done by Friday, so that students can play the games created by their peers.
- Science (NS): Diving into sustainability and creating a sustainable city.
- Socials: Our ABC religion books have been completed and bound. The hard work put into these projects was certainly evident! This week we look at art as a component of ancient civilization culture.
- French (AV): We will have our unit 2 test this Tuesday!
- Music (NS): On Tuesday, Dec. 17, we will have our SHOW AND SHARE! Students are welcome to prepare a solo/group piece to share with the class!

Grade 8 - Mrs. Jackson
- Thanks for all your support for Market Day! There is a lot of work done at home, and the time and effort it takes to make the day the success that it was does not go unnoticed and is very much appreciated!
- One more week of final activities and wrapping things up! On Friday we hope to have a gift exchange. For this, students are asked to bring in a $10-$15 gift which includes socks to be used as the wrapping paper..
