Classroom Projects
The ALC PIG class took a walking tour of downtown Buffalo to see the many murals the city has to offer. They took a deep dive into the city's art work to find inspiration for their positivity mural wall that they will be completing as part of their PIG Capstone project. We can't wait for the results!
Mrs. Schaal's Honors 11 Class has been reading "The Crucible". What better way to immerse yourself in the story than making Puritan hats and bonnets to wear while reading your part? Our "Puritans" even accompanied us on a recent fire drill.
East and Colden Elementary Make A Connection
The AP Biology class taught by Miss Emily Cataldo is enthusiastically partnering with her sister, Miss Melissa Cataldo, a kindergarten teacher at Colden Elementary School in Springville. The two classes are going to be pen-pals over the course of this year, writing letters back and forth between classrooms to connect with each other in preparation for a joint field trip they will be taking to the Buffalo Zoo in the spring. The AP Biology class just wrote their first messages to the kindergarteners and are eagerly awaiting their responses! Melissa is older than Emily, but ironically they teach the opposite age groups. They are excited to integrate their teaching across multiple districts and match older students with younger students to reinforce the value of science across all age groups.

SUNY Waves Application Fee
How It Works
- If using ApplySUNY, when you get to the payment page, it will show the first five campus application fees as waived (they are paid by SUNY).
- If using Common App, you will need to apply campus by campus. On each SUNY school’s member page, there will be a question that says, "It is free application week with The State University of New York through November 3! Would you like SUNY to pay your application fee?" If you select "Yes", your fee will be waived for that SUNY school. You can do this for up to five SUNY schools.
