Changes in Kauri 3
It is with a sense of sadness that we say farewell to Mrs Julia Johnstone at the end of this term and a sense of joy that this wonderful educator is heading off on a new adventure.
We deeply appreciate all her mahi and love for the tamariki of Puketapu School and we wish her all the very best in her new role.
We are delighted to let you know that for the remainder of the 2022 school year, Terms 3 and 4, the wellbeing and learning of tamariki of Kauri 3 will be in the capable hands of
Mrs Kellie Minnell and Ms Marina Collier.
As most of you know, Kellie was a highly regarded teacher and leader of the Tōtara team here at Puketapu for several years and has been away for the past year supporting in the family business.
Marina is one of our wonderful part time teachers who usually covers the release of full time teachers.
We are delighted that Marina and Kellie are joining forces to take up this role. Both teachers already know, understand and have built strong relationships with many of the children in Kauri 3, they have an affinity with our community and are valued members of the Puketapu team.
We thank Julia, Kellie and Marina for working closely together to ensure the tamariki of Kauri 3 have a smooth transition from Term 2 into Term 3 and we know you will look forward to meeting with Marina and Kellie as the year progresses.
Farewell Mrs J, welcome back Mrs Minnell and kia ora Whaea Marina
board elections
Board members are active leaders in our school. They have an important role of supporting strong professional leadership and ensuring effective teaching for all students through informed governance.
Who do you want to see on our Board?
School boards need to represent the diversity of their school communities to ensure a bright future for all our children. You don't have to have a student at school to be on our Board, you just need to be a member of our community.
The elections are your opportunity to vote for candidates who will make a positive difference for children’s education - people willing to use their skills and experiences for the benefit of students!
Nominations for our Board members will be opening during the school holidays, so keep an eye out for the nomination link.
For more information about becoming a Board member, please see the NZSTA website - School Board Elections
