Trailblazers,
Happy New Year!! It has been a great week back with both our in-person and virtual students returning. Our students and our staff have been excited to be together!
Today, students had the opportunity to research a wondering they had to foster students' curiosity. Those that were ready presented their findings to the class. Exploring their passions and interest engaged students, and some stated that this was the best day ever. It was great to see the Tarvin Learner profile in action all day! Ask your child what they found out about their wondering. See students in action the pictures below. For more pictures, check out our Facebook page.
Together in Learning,

Covid Updates
On Wednesday, January 5th our district sent out communication about the rise and some changes in the Close Contact/Quarantine protocols. COVID-19 LISD (Review Close Contact/Quarientiene) At campus, we will continue the safety protocols for stage yellow that we have followed this year.
However, with the change in the district protocols, there will be one external change for our families. Until now, the district and our campus were responsible for contact tracing students Pre-K-6th; due to those students not having the opportunity to be vaccinated. Beginning 1/5/22, the contact tracing efforts were moved to concentrate on our youngest students who do not have the opportunity to be vaccinated.
How might that impact our K-5 families? If your child is in a class with a student or staff member who tests positive, individual notifications will not come to families making them aware of the close contact. At this time, the school notification of the positive case for our campus will go out through Remind. Parents can continue to inform other parents, but as of 1/5/22 our staff will not be able to share that information as we will no longer be contact tracing in grades K-5. This particular protocol has been in effect in grades 7th-12th all school year as those students have had the opportunity for vaccination beginning last spring.
