We hope you all had a wonderful summer filled with fun, relaxation, and plenty of time to recharge. It was wonderful to see so many families last night!
As we gear up for another fantastic year of learning and growth, we want to express how excited we are to have our students back in the classrooms, ready to explore, discover, and achieve great things.
This year, we're committed to creating an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare for an amazing year, filled with engaging lessons, new experiences, and opportunities for every child to shine.
As we start this journey together, we encourage everyone to embrace the excitement of learning, the joy of new friendships, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Let's work together to make this school year the best one yet!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Here's to a year filled with success, growth, and plenty of smiles.

Do You Know the Long Core Values?
At Long Elementary, we believe that a strong foundation of values is essential for our students' growth and success. That's why we are excited to share with you our four core values that guide everything we do: Respect, Responsibility, Leadership, and Kindness.
Respect: We encourage our students to show respect for themselves, others, and the world around them. Respectful behavior creates a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.
Responsibility: We teach our students the importance of being accountable for their actions, taking ownership of their learning, and contributing positively to our school community.
Leadership: Every student has the potential to be a leader. We inspire our students to set a positive example, make good choices, and work together to achieve shared goals.
Kindness: Kindness is at the heart of everything we do. We foster a culture of empathy, compassion, and support, where students are encouraged to be kind to one another, creating a warm and welcoming school atmosphere.
These values are woven into our daily routines, lessons, and interactions. By embracing these principles, we are confident that our students will not only excel academically but also grow into responsible, compassionate, and capable individuals.
We appreciate your support in reinforcing these core values at home, and we look forward to working together to help our students thrive in a positive and nurturing environment.
Thank you for being a part of our Long Elementary family!

A Message from the Nurse About Student Illness and COVID-19
As the school year is starting, the school nurses would like to send reminders regarding student illnesses, and when a student should stay home from school. The district’s Health Procedures webpage includes helpful information to determine whether your child should stay home from school due to illness. The district exclusion list has been updated to meet current recommendations.
If your child will be missing school, please remember to contact your child’s school to make them aware. Our school’s attendance line is 314-729-2450.
Lindbergh Schools recommends reaching out to your health care provider if you have questions regarding COVID-19 exposure or illness. In addition, our district follows the COVID-19 Isolation and Precautions recommendations laid out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
As always, we are here to help and wish all of our families a safe and healthy school year. Thank you, and stay well.
Sincerely,
Jessica Franklin

Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Arrival:
Students will be entering the building through the main entrance. They may stop and get breakfast in the cafeteria. Doors open at 8:35. There is no adult supervision until this time, so please do not drop students off early.
All children who are late to school after 8:55 a.m. will need to sign in at the office.
Morning Drop Off:
In the morning, caregivers will drop off and students will enter the building by using the main entrances indicated on the image below. We ask that caregivers do not get out of the car in the pick-up line. We will have adults direct students on the crosswalk. If you need to walk your child to the front doors please park and do not go through the drop off line.
Afternoon Pick-Up:
We ask that all caregivers download the PikMyKid app, see information below. This app allows you to check in and adds your child's name to our list. Caregivers that pick-up will enter through the parking lot's main entrance and form two lines. If your student is a pick-up they will wait in the gym until their name is called. Caregivers do not get out of the car. We will have staff members walk your children out and to the cars after the car line stops moving.
*This process is slower the first few days as our youngest students learn the routine
Download FirstView App for Real-Time Bus Information
In partnership with the district’s transportation provider First Student, Lindbergh Schools uses the FirstView app to communicate bus information with families in real time. This includes student pickup and drop-off times, and any delays or notifications.
Download the FirstView app from the Apple or Google Play store
Click the yellow button that says “Tap here to add a new student”
Make sure the fields are set as follows:
State = “Missouri”
District = “Lindbergh SD”
Student Number = In this field, please enter your student’s 10-digit Student Number, which is located on the “Student Profile” page in Infinite Campus
It is important to note that bus routes change from year to year, so your student’s bus stop and pickup/drop-off times may not be the same as last year. Families are required to sign up for transportation services annually.
Please check your student’s bus stop information on Aug. 19 to confirm any updates or changes before the first day of school.

2024-25 Student Board Representative Advisory Group - 4th and 5th grade Apply Today!
Hello! My name is Lara Pimentel and I am serving as the Student Representative for Lindbergh’s Board of Education for the 2024-25 school year. Representing students from across our district is important to me because I want to ensure that students get a say in their education experience. That is why I am looking for students currently in grades 4-8 to participate in next year’s Student Board Representative Advisory group.
Each month, I will visit a different school in the district and talk to a small group of students. These short meetings take place during the school day for elementary schools, and directly after school for middle schools. In these meetings, I ask questions to the group of students and gather feedback regarding their experiences at Lindbergh. We look at what our schools are doing well and which areas could be improved upon.
From there, I share key information with the Board of Education and provide suggestions on ways to address student concerns.
So, if you are interested in representing your classmates, please fill out this form before Friday, Sept. 6!
