Rebel Reports Weekly Update
June 2020 (1st Edition)
Principal's Message
Dear Hays High School Parents & Students,
The hallways are empty, the campus silent and the summer of 2020 sets in. Soon that silence will be broken on our campus as we celebrate the class of 2020 on June 25th. Congratulations to our seniors, it has been a great four years and I wish you all the best in your next journeys. As we close one chapter in our school’s history, we open another for the 2020-21 school year. A school year that will bring us challenges and opportunities to grow closer and learn together. Sometimes societies, organizations and individuals need to have an overwhelming breakdown before we can have an incredible breakthrough. That saying is especially relevant right now with the unrest and COVID-19 situations in our country. Our children are our most precious resource. What we do, they will do. What we say, they will say, what we model, they will follow.
As Principal of Hays High School, I am proud of what our kids do in the classroom and in the community each and every day. They are the future leaders in Hays County and the world, and that all starts at Hays High School. I want to thank you for your continued support of our students and our school. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or one of my team members.
To prepare for the 2020-21 school year, we need you to complete the 2020-21 Hays CISD registration form. The link is below. We will be open for business M-Th 7:30am-5:30pm all summer to serve our students and parents.
Thank you!

Counselors Corner
Life has changed dramatically in the last few months for our students and brought many unexpected stressors; it's not uncommon for such sudden change to accompany a temporary increased need for mental health support--even months after life appears to be returning "back to normal". Please visit the Hays HS Counseling Corner for some helpful websites and tips for mental health and self care, as well as some state & local resources: https://www.smore.com/pjc4x8
Families who receive SNAP benefits or who received Free/Reduced Lunch in the 19-20 school year may be eligible for additional food assistance of up to $285 per child. Visit https://yourtexasbenefits.com/Learn/PEBT for more information.
