HFRCS Newsletter August 13, 2024
SUMMER 2024 EDITION
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It’s hard to believe that we are already in the second week of August and that in three short weeks we will be returning for another year of school! It’s time to refresh those uniforms, purchase school supplies, finish up summer work and think about getting back into the routine of a school schedule.
I am very pleased to announce that we have a new teacher for our Kindergarten! Miss Rachel Hooven is very excited to join our Holy Family team and bring her joy of teaching, enthusiasm and creativity to her students and families. Welcome Miss Hooven!
Last week and again this week, we have had workers in our building to install brand new magnetic white boards in each classroom, and large corkboards in the hallways. The result is an exceptionally clean and sleek look in the classrooms and hallways that will enable teachers to display student work and information inside and outside the classroom!
This year, to reduce the paperwork that comes home the first few days of a new school year, we are posting electronically important documents for parents through the FACTS Family Portal. Please see today’s newsletter for important information from Mrs. Mangapit regarding how to access and sign off on these documents.
Our teachers are working hard in their classrooms and at home to prepare for another exciting new school year. Enjoy these last weeks of summer! We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school very soon!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty
Thursday is a holy day of obligation.
Please see this newsletter for Mass times for our sponsoring parishes.
We are a family of FAITH!
Remember to go to Mass this weekend.

FACTS Family Portal and Start of the School Year Documents
During the first week of school, PK-Gr.8 parents/guardians need to complete and sign school-required forms and submit documents before school starts. This year, most forms will be completed online via the FACTS Family Portal. Instructions for accessing these forms are attached. Forms need to be completed for each student.
Access FACTS FAMILY Portal factsmgt.com with your login and password and use district code HFR-PA. If you haven’t set up your FACTS Family Portal account, follow the attached instructions in the newsletter. You will be able to save your progress and complete the forms at a later time. Please complete all forms by Friday, September 6.
Some forms, such as Emergency Information and Medical Information Update, will still need to be completed on paper and this form will be provided on the first day of school.
Class List
As a reminder, class lists will not be made available until the last week of August. Class lists can be viewed via the FACTS Family Portal. FACTS Family Portal is also used to view and monitor your student's academic progress and access other school forms (e.g. monthly calendar, start of the school year forms, etc).
September Lunch Order - due Aug 18
Our school's free breakfast and hot lunch program is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Nutritional Development Services (NDS). We request parents/guardians to complete breakfast/lunch order forms weeks in advance so we know how much food order we need to place with NDS. PK breakfast and PK-8th grade hot lunches are prepared according to the number of orders we receive from our order form. Breakfast and lunch menus are subject to change at any time. Please check our website for the latest menus.
Breakfast:
- Half-day and full-day PreK students can place cold breakfast orders using the breakfast/lunch order form. PreK breakfast is delivered to their classrooms. Please note that if you are ordering breakfast and your child does not eat it, the breakfast will be sent home with them.- K-Gr. 8 students can avail of the free breakfast on a first-come first-serve basis and while supplies last. Breakfast service closes at the start of school at 7:55 AM or once all breakfast items are claimed.
- - Full-day PreK and K-Gr. 8 students can place hot lunch orders using the lunch order form.
- - You can opt to have an all year, all month, or a specific day only lunch order.
- - If you place an all year hot lunch order for your child, your child must come get their hot lunch every school day.
- - "Milk only" orders are available to purchase for $0.50/each and must be ordered in advance by the deadline. Payment for your milk is due once you place the month's order and must be sent to the school office in an envelope marked "Milk Only" with your child's name and grade.
- - If there is a change to your child's lunch order for the day (e.g. opted to pack lunch and does not wish to take the ordered hot lunch, etc.), your child must let Mrs. Prasse know during breakfast service, before 8:00 AM, to inform her of the change.
To ensure that everyone gets a school lunch that day, students who order hot lunch should come up to the lunch line and take their lunch, and students who did not order should be eating a lunch packed from home. We want to be good stewards of our lunch program and have students eat the food ordered. Ordering hot lunch and only eating one food item is wasteful and should be discouraged.
If you have any additional questions about the breakfast and lunch program, please reach out to our Lunch Manager Mrs. Prasse patricia.prasse@hfrcs.org. If you have any issues with the order form, please contact Mrs. Mangapit michelle.mangapit@hfrcs.org.
