• Car Rider reminders:
• Please do not park in the front while buses are present to drop children off. Car riders must be dropped off in the car rider lane.
• Please note there is no left turn between 7:45 a.m. - 8:25 a.m. and 2:25 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. This is for the safety of parents and students.
• Please see the arrival and dismissal procedures below.
• iReady testing starts next week.
• Curriculum Night will be on Thursday August 22, 2024. Please see information below.
• Brag tags - We are excited to announce Brag Tags at WMES! Students will earn Brag Tags throughout the year for displaying the 3Bs (Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe). They can earn tags for other things, such as having perfect attendance, participating in Field Day, and being a club member. Ask your child to "brag" to you and your family members about any tags that they earn throughout the year.

Please choose one of the sessions to attend.

Date: Thursday August 22, 2024 (5:00pm to 7:00pm).

• Session 1 - 5:10pm to 5:50pm
• Session 2 - 6:10pm to 6:50pm

This event is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet your child's teacher(s), learn more about our curriculum, and ask any questions you may have. Teachers will also share ways that you can support your child's learning at home.

Your involvement is crucial to your child's success, and we look forward to partnering with you this year.

Families, if you need an interpreter for your child/children's Parent Teacher Conferences, please complete the form below by Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 5:00pm. • Orientations will begin the first week of school. All students receive weekly access to the media center.
• Refer to the media program section of the school website for the circulation policies and procedures.
• All student media fines can be paid on MyPaymentsPlus. We are no longer accepting cash or check payments for lost/damaged books.
• Student media accounts can be accessed through the eCLASS student portal. Use the directions below to check your child’s account.

• Our Beanstack Summer Reading Challenge ended on July 31, 2024.
• We hope to have many readers to celebrate at our summer reading celebration in September.
• The GCPS Book Mobile will visit our school to reward students with a free book of their choice.
• The next Beanstack Reading Challenge will begin in September!

We hope to see our students daily! Regular attendance is crucial for their success.

If your child is out sick:

• Please provide an excuse note or a doctor’s note to the teacher within 5 days of your child’s return to school.

Planned Absences:

• Communicate with your child’s teacher if you know they will be absent.

Friday - Veggie nuggets, calzonettes, rice and chicken bowl, hummus basket
