Madison No. 1's Family Weekly News!
Week of 9/23/24:
Mission: "Madison No.1 ensures learning at high levels for all!"
Dear Amazing Madison No. 1 Families,
As the end of the quarter quickly approaches, now is a great time to review your student’s PowerSchool account to check on their grades. This is a good opportunity to see if they have any missing assignments, need to request a make-up for any work, or want to redo an assignment for a better grade. Staying on top of grades now can help prevent any last-minute surprises!
We also want to remind families that attendance and punctuality are crucial to your student’s success. When students arrive late or miss class, it impacts not only their learning but also the flow of the entire class. We need your partnership to ensure students understand the importance of being at school every day and arriving on time.
While our 5th and 6th grade students generally prioritize getting to class on time, we’ve noticed that some of our 7th and 8th graders struggle with this. As a school, we are implementing measures to encourage timeliness, but we also need your help. Please talk with your student about the importance of moving promptly between classes and being ready to learn when the bell rings.
When a student arrives late to class, it disrupts the learning environment and puts them at a disadvantage because they miss key content. This can lead to feelings of anxiety and make it difficult for them to stay engaged and motivated. Your support in reinforcing these expectations at home is invaluable and helps us create a positive and productive learning environment for all our students.
Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Johnny Brownlie

A Message from our Athletic Director:
Games start this week. Please remind your students that if they want to support our student athletes, they must be accompanied by an adult who is taking them home. The expectation is the same not only here at Madison No. 1 but all Madison schools. Students will be turned away or asked to leave if they are not with a parent.
