Hello Wildcat Families!

How 'bout them birds!! Excitement has been in the air as we have watched our Philadelphia Eagles make their way to Super Bowl LIX!! To support our team we will have an Eagles pep rally on Friday, February 7th. Students have been learning the Eagles fight song in music class and making special hats for the event in Art. Additionally, our PBIS team made special Superbowl tickets that students are given for demonstrating our positive behaviors throughout the school. All students are invited and encouraged to wear green and/or EAGLES gear on the 7th! Go birds!!

As a reminder, we have a half-day on Friday, February 14th and school is closed on Monday, February 17th for Presidents' Day.

Girls on the Run is coming to Westtown-Thornbury Elementary 3rd-5th graders! Girls on the Run goes beyond just physical activity -- we foster a positive educational and inclusive environment where every girl feels seen, heard and valued. If you're looking for a program that inspires your girl to be her best self, join our team! Our Spring 2025 season begins 2/24/25 and meets Mon/Fri 3:45-5:15. Children's author, Gene Baretta, visited WTE to read his latest book, Now and Ben, and to teach the students about Benjamin Franklin. Gene is the author of many books including "Now and Ben" about Ben Franklin and his many Inventions that are still used today.

During the first half of the assembly, Mr. Baretta shared his experiences illustrating and writing books using many illustrated examples to guide the talk. In the second half, Mr. Baretta read "Now & Ben" with the surprise appearance of Ben himself, who contributed more information and insight as they read.

On Friday, January 24th, we had Mindfulness Day at WTE. Over the course of the day, the students participated in a variety of mindfulness activities including music therapy with the West Chester University students, pet therapy with some special K-9 visitors, Zumba, yoga, journaling and more. Thank you to Mrs. Garvin for all of her efforts in coordinating this school wide event. It is our hope students tried something new that they enjoyed or found helpful. Below are just a few pictures from the day!

Carnival is coming to town on 3/1! Please check the sign-ups below to see where you can lend a hand! We can’t run our school Carnival without many parent hands to make it a successful and fun event for our Wildcats! Thank you in advance for helping out however you can!

This is an ONLINE SALE only. Books are NOT for sale in June when they are delivered, so if you think your Wildcat will want a yearbook when they are delivered in school, order one by 3/28! Hop on that early bird rate to save a few dollars. If you have a 5th grader, do not order a yearbook for them as they will get one for FREE, courtesy of the WTE PTO.
