A newsletter for Walnut Hills High School
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
November 15, 2024
Dear Walnut Hills High School Families:
As we approach Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for our incredible school community. We are so thankful for the partnership we have with our families and stakeholders, who support us every step of the way. Your involvement makes a difference in each student’s success, and we couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for being a vital part of our mission.
Winter sports are officially here! Our students are gearing up for basketball, wrestling, swimming, bowling and more. With practices underway and schedules filling up, let’s come together to cheer on our teams and support our athletes as they embark on an exciting season. Our basketball teams kick-off their season with Eagle Madness this Friday, November 15th at 7:00 PM. Let’s pack the Nuthouse! Go Eagles!
We are so proud of the recent expansion of our cafeteria, adding more space for our students to gather, eat, and connect. The updated cafeteria looks amazing, and we are thrilled to have a facility that enhances student life while preserving the charm of our building, which is over 100 years old! Our facilities are a testament to the history and pride of our school, and we aim to preserve them for the next 100 years and beyond. Unfortunately, we have noticed an increase in trash being left behind in the cafeteria and around the building. We ask for your support reminding your students to respect these spaces by cleaning up after themselves. Let’s all work together to care for our beautiful, historic campus!
Just a reminder that this Sunday, November 17th, 1-3 pm, is our Open House for Prospective Students. This is an excellent chance for students who are considering where to continue their education to check out the unique opportunities at Walnut Hills High School. Please help spread the word to families that you think may be interested in learning more about our school. A personal invitation and sharing experiences go a long way.
Let’s Rise to the Highest!
Ashley Morgan
Interim Principal

It takes a village, and we appreciate those of you forwarding our emails to families who are not getting messages. Please share THIS LINK with anyone you know not receiving emails from Walnut, so we can gather accurate information and update our system.
Grade Discrepancies Between Focus and Canvas
Attention Parents/Guardians:
It has been brought to our attention that students can create hypothetical scores in Canvas by simply clicking on the number the teacher entered-- and entering any number that would create a "hypothetical score." Please know that the grade book of record is Focus-- not Canvas. Any changes made by students in Canvas will not be reflected in Focus. If you want to check how your student is doing, always check Focus.
