11 Days to Go
As we prepare to welcome your child(ren) back to school on Wednesday, August 21st, we would like to share some important information about establishing and maintaining effective routines. A consistent daily routine can help your child adjust to the school year smoothly and set the stage for success.
Morning Routine:
- Consistent Wake-Up Time: Ensure your child wakes up at the same time each day to build a regular sleep pattern. This is the hardest part of transitioning back to school!
- Healthy Breakfast: Provide a nutritious breakfast to fuel your child for the day ahead. If you would like to have breakfast at school, please arrive prior to our warning bell at 8:10 am.
- Preparedness: Make sure your child has all necessary school supplies. If your child needs assistance with supplies please stop by the front office.
- Positive Start: Encourage a positive and calm start to the day with a brief conversation or motivational words.
Bedtime Routine
- Discuss the Importance of Sleep: Talk to your child about why getting enough sleep is important for their health, mood, and school performance. Set a regular bedtime that allows for at least 9-11 hours of sleep, depending on your child's age. Begin the bedtime routine 30-60 minutes before your child needs to be asleep. This wind-down period helps signal to their body that it's time to get ready for bed.
Transportation and Safety:
- Bus Schedule: Review the bus schedule and ensure your child knows their bus stop location and times.
- Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedures: Familiarize yourself with our drop-off and pick-up procedures to ensure a smooth and safe transition. Please refer to our handbook at the bottom of this newsletter.
- Safety First: Remind your child about safety protocols such as looking both ways before crossing the street and not talking to strangers. If they are riding a bike to school, please make sure they wear a helmet.
We believe that by establishing these routines, we can work together to ensure a successful and enjoyable school year for your child. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Get to Know Our Programs!
Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
We are excited to showcase our award winning PLTW Launch STEM program in the area or Pre-Biomedical. Project Lead the Way Launch (PLTW Launch) is a program designed to introduce elementary students (Transitional Kindergarten through Fifth grade) to the principles of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The program aims to foster a love for these subjects and develop critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills from a young age. Here’s a detailed description of the PLTW Launch program:
PLTW Launch is part of the broader Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum, which spans from kindergarten through 12th grade. The elementary program is specifically tailored to engage young students in hands-on, real-world activities, projects, and problems that build a foundation for their future studies and careers in STEM fields.
Once students enter 6th grade, they transition into the GATEWAY PLTW Pre-Biomedical learning which includes pathways in engineering, computer science, and biomedical science. This particular program aims to inspire students to consider careers in biomedical fields by providing a hands-on, project-based learning experience that is both challenging and engaging.
Benefits of our STEM Program
- Early Exposure to STEM: Introducing STEM concepts at an early age helps to build a strong foundation and spark interest in these fields.
- Skill Development: Students develop critical skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, which are valuable in all areas of life.
- Confidence Building: Engaging in hands-on projects and seeing their ideas come to life boosts students’ confidence in their abilities.
- Preparation for Future Learning: The skills and knowledge gained through PLTW Launch prepare students for more advanced STEM coursework in middle school and beyond.
