Dr. Isett's Weekly Message
Week of November 18, 2024
Hello Colts Families and Community,
This Monday, November 18th, your student will participate in the "Fastbridge" quarterly assessment. These regular check-ins help us understand their progress and readiness for the state test in the spring. More importantly, they guide us in tailoring support to ensure every Colt is set up for success. Please remind your student to give their best effort, as these results often play a role in determining math placement for the upcoming school year.
As we approach Thanksgiving Break, we want you to know that our team is here to support your family. If your Colt needs any extra assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are proud of the hard work our students are putting in and are grateful for your partnership in their education.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful week ahead!
Warm regards,
Eva Isett, Ed. D.

A message from our counseling team
Practicing gratitude is a wonderful way for middle schoolers to develop positive thinking and build stronger family connections. Here is engaging family activitiy focused on gratitude:
1. Gratitude Jar
How it works: Place a jar in a common area and provide small slips of paper and pens. Each family member writes down one thing they're grateful for every day and places it in the jar. At the end of the week, gather together to read the notes aloud and discuss them.
Why it’s great: It’s a daily reminder of positive moments, and reading them aloud fosters a sense of appreciation and shared joy.
8th Grade Families only
Academic Support with Paraeducators
Families, if your student is on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and you would like your student to receive additional academic support on Wednesdays, please reach out to your case carrier and encourage your Colt to stay after school in the library on Wednesdays to receive homework support from 1:30-2:30 PM.
We recommend you check your student's progress every two weeks

School Safety
See something, say something
At River Heights, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community are our top priority. Students, if you witness or experience bullying, threats, or suspicious behavior, report it to a trusted adult. Parents, stay engaged by talking to your children about their school experiences, monitoring online activities, and reporting concerns.
Together, we can ensure our school remains a safe, secure, and supportive environment for everyone. Thank you for your continued vigilance and partnership in this effort.
Witness Statement
We take allegations of bullying and harassment seriously. Please have your student complete a witness statement if they have something to report. If it is an urgent matter, please call the front office at (951) 738-2155, if it is an emergency, please call 911.
