Goals for Personalized Learning Plans
All students have opportunities to reach their full potential through inspired teaching, personalized learning, goal setting, reflection, and relevant career and community-based activities.
All educators are actively engaged in making relevant connections, infusing employability skills into their curriculum and instructional approaches, and supporting students throughout their academic and career planning process.
All learning coaches are knowledgeable of and involved with their student’s goals and plans and are engaged in supporting their student through the PLP process.
All schools embed the Vision of a Graduate across their personalized learning communities, curriculums, and school culture.
All stakeholders are aware of the PLP process through collaborative communication.
Our Personalized Learning Planning encourages all students to be strong critical thinkers, solve real-world problems, persevere, be competent socially and emotionally, and make more informed choices. The PLP starts in Kindergarten and is linked to many areas including those listed below.

When does a student begin developing their PLP?
Students begin the PLP process in K-3rd grades and will create their plan in 4th-12th grades. The plan is worked on primarily during Homeroom at the high school with:
Activities for students at each grade level (highlighted on the other side of this sheet)
Lessons created by School Counselors and the Personalized Learning Coordinator
Xello is used to help students capture their plan - each student has a unique login and password
What is the Learning Coaches Role in this process?
All WIVA HS students have a Learning Coach (LC) to support them in their academic and future planning. The PLP process is a part of that support.
LCs are encouraged to sit down with their student to discuss the process, review their plan, and help them select learning opportunities that align with their goals – each LC has a unique login and password for Xello to view their student’s information and planning
LCs will ensure that students understand the importance of attending the bi-weekly Homerooms
Families may connect with a School Counselor to request course progression for a specific career
