Kindergarten Registration 2025-2026
Derry Township School District is underway with the planning for our incoming Kindergarteners for the 2025-2026 school year! A child is eligible for admission to kindergarten if s/he has attained the age of five (5) years before the first day of September. We encourage families to review the kindergarten registration information below to prepare for when registration opens.
To learn more about Kindergarten Registration, visit our website.
Sign up for our mailing list using the button below to stay informed on upcoming mailings and events for our 2025-2026 Kindergarten class! Feel free to share this link with families you know with a kindergarten-age student. The first event will be our parent information night in January. More information regarding parent information night will be coming soon.
Winter Weather Communication
The district has been approved for five flexible instructional days (FID) for the 2024-2025 school year. This means we are able to provide instruction virtually during the event of a full snow day. However, after hearing feedback from our families and throughout the community, we know there is an appreciation for having a βtrue snow day.β Therefore, on the first full-day designated as a snow day (where we will not be running a delayed schedule), we will close school and allow our students to have the day off. The remaining 5 snow days will be FID days, if needed. Families will be notified by text, email, and phone call in the event of a schedule change due to weather. Additionally, the district will post the information on the front page of the website, social media accounts, and on local news stations.
We have dedicated an area of our website that contains more information about communication expectations during a weather related schedule change.
Elementary School Building Project Update π«
What's Happening?
On November 18, Crabtree, Rohrbaugh, and Associates presented an update to the General Services Committee regarding the progress of design plans for the new building. The presentation highlighted several key aspects of the project, including detailed plans for the media center and the academic wing. The media center is envisioned as a dynamic and adaptable space designed to foster collaboration and innovation. The academic wing will include modernized classrooms and learning environments tailored to support our educational vision and the diversity of student needs.
