Spirit Week is Coming!

Check out the exciting Holiday Spirit Days we have planning beginning on Monday, December 16th.

The Rising Sun staff is excited to share the Holiday Spirit with our families! We will be starting our tour at 3:00PM and make 5 stops (see below for stops and approximate times). At each stop we will sing some Christmas carols, and give out candy canes.

Please join us at a stop near you and spread some Holiday Spirit!

Rising Sun Elementary School is excited to announce that we will once again be collecting donations to put together care packages for local veterans. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we were able to fill over 100 stockings last year. With your support, we hope to be able to match last year's donation.

In order for us to have time to stuff and label stockings correctly, we would need all donated items brought to school no later than Friday, December 13th. You can find a list of recommended items below.

• Pumpkin/Sunflower Seeds

• Baby Wipes

• Hot Chocolate or Packets

• Liquid Hand Sanitizer (Travel Size)

• Gum/mints

• Tissues

• Beef Jerky/Slim Jims

• Toothpaste/Toothbrush/Floss

• Multivitamins

• Band-aids/First-Aid Supplies

• Moisturizer

• Shampoo/Conditioner

• Pens/Pencils

• Lip Balm

• Batteries (AA, AAA size)

• Socks - Black or White

• Dominoes/Small Games

• Protein Bars/Powder

• Deck of Cards

• Cereal Bars/Granola Bars

• Crossword/Sudoku Books

• Cotton Swabs (Q-tips)

In November we celebrated learning and growth through Student-Led Conferences and our Learn with Me parent visits. Students took the lead, proudly showcasing their progress, achievements, and goals to their families. Parents joined in the classrooms, experience first-hand the hard work and creativity that happens every day.

Hearing students explain their learning journeys and seeing parents actively engage was truly inspiring. Thank you to everyone who participated and made today a success!

Our School-wide Attendance Percentage in the 1st Marking Period was 93.83%. Our goal is for all students to have an attendance rate of 95% or better.

Hi Families,PLEASE REMEMBER:

Medications MUST be brought into school by the student's parent/guardian. Student's can not bring ANY medications in their book bag (including over the counter medications). The medication will be confiscated and required to be picked up by the parent/guardian.

Student's must be fever free without fever reducing medications for 24 hours. If I send your student home sick, they are required to miss the next day of school.

Clinica Medica Primaria de Rising Sun es una clínica sin cita previa que proporciona medicina de atención primaria para la comunidad de habla hispana de Rising Sun, Maryland y sus alrededores.

Actualmente atienden a los pacientes por orden de llegada los miércoles por la noche a partir de las 6 p.m. El costo se determina en una escala móvil, a partir de $20, dependiendo de los ingresos y el tamaño de la familia. Lleve un comprobante de ingresos a su primera visita. No rechazarán a nadie por no poder pagar. El personal que habla español y los intérpretes están presentes en toda la clínica.
