Gower Middle Weekly Update

The 2024-25 Illinois 5Essentials Survey is expected to open on Tuesday, February 18th! Your feedback is needed and appreciated to help Gower Middle with our cycle of continuous improvement each year. Thank you for giving your time to take the important survey!

Information was emailed to all 5th, 6th and 7th grade parents last week about specials class course selection for the 25/26 School Year. Please review the email and courses offered with your child. Selections are to be entered in PowerSchool by Friday, March 7th. Please reach out to our main office with any questions.

Our annual 8th Grade Graduation Picture Day is coming up on Friday, February 22nd. Our 8th graders will have their picture taken in the outfit they wear to school and in a cap and gown. Picture proofs will be available electronically shortly after the picture date.

During the regular season, which starts in March, our team plays a fast-paced trivia game (much like the TV show Jeopardy) where a team of Gower scholars is pitted against other schools to see who is the smartest!

Questions focus on a wide range of topics: history, geography, current movies & music, math, science, books and MUCH MORE. You do NOT need to be an expert at any one topic or an AT student to participate

Practices will begin SOON and meets start in March. Gower has a strong track record, so come be a part of this winning team!

Please encourage your child to complete the Google Form that was shared with all students this week if they are interested in joining this team!
