Important Message
As some of you may know, this past Monday, December 2, 2024, Castle Park Middle School responded to a tip from students who alerted staff to a peer that was suspected of possessing a weapon. Our CVPD SRO responded immediately and quickly recovered the weapon and the student was arrested.
This incident could have happened at any school. We can always learn and grow from others and I am confident that through the various school wide safety drills and safety week, the awareness and vigilance we share will allow us to continue staying safe. We encourage all members of our community to report any suspicious, threatening or concerning behavior using the P3 Tips app (accessible at https://www.p3tips.com/community/) . This tool allows for anonymous reporting and is an invaluable resource we can use to maintain a safe campus.
Thank you Falcons for your ongoing support! Let's make this a great week!
Wellness Wednesday Movement: Every Wednesday, we send out a Wellness Wednesday Message to boost student morale. It includes a self-care tip, a kindness challenge and a positive statement to create a positive mindset. We also like to wear bright colors or shirts with positive sayings on Wednesdays too! Keep the tradition alive by supporting this Wellness Wednesday movement. All of our messages can be seen in our counseling center google classroom. All students have been invited to join.
The Book Fair begins on Monday, December 9th and will be open all week, closing on Friday, December 13th, 2024.
Students will visit the Book Fair with English class (see the attached schedule) and may also visit the Book Fair before school, during Nutrition Break, at lunch, or after school. The Fair will be open daily from 7:30 to 3:30, closing on Friday at 2:30.
Family members are welcome to come and check out the Book Fair before or after school! Simply sign-in at the Main Office with CA ID and then head over to the Library.
Family members can also set up an eWallet for students to use at the Book Fair (see attached directions). There is also a video with more information and directions for creating an eWallet: bookfairs.scholastic.com/content/fairs/hub/videos/ewallet.html
Our school goal for this year's Book Fair is 550 books! (Last year we reached 503)
If you have any questions about the Scholastic Book Fair, please reply to this message or call the Library at (619) 498-2730.

It is our collective expectation that everyone on campus will uphold the cell phone use policy as outlined in the district's board policy as well as in our handbook:
- Upon entry, all cell phones must be turned off and placed in the backpack.
- If a staff member directs a student to put it away, please listen and put cellphone in backpack.
- Cell phones are not allowed in the bathroom. If students are caught with cellphone in the bathroom, the phone will be taken immediately and must be picked up by the parents. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- If a staff member takes a cell phone away, they will give it back to student at the end of each period UNLESS it warrants being taken to the main office.
