School - to - Home Literacy Connections
Dear Rockwell Families,
Please become our partner in building strong reading skills at home. The following links include hands-on activity ideas to promote literacy development at home. These fun games and projects can be completed with items that families already have at home. Try one activity per week and then revisit your favorites throughout the 2024-25 school year. We are excited to build a strong school-to-home literacy connection this year!

Dismissal Notes
If you wish your child to walk or bike home alone from school, please provide a note of written permission that we can keep on file. One note for the entire school year is fine.
Please do not call the school after 3:00 pm to change dismissal methods. The school has one incoming line and cannot handle the multiple calls for change we get at that time and we do not want to run the risk of not having time to notify your child's teacher of the change. If you know in the morning that you have a change in dismissal routine, please email both your child's teacher and the school secretary, Allissa.surkont@BWRSD.org. This ensures that we will see the change notice and can add to the dismissal notices for the day.
Your designated pick-up people are the names that you have indicated in the in the Aspen system. In the event that an emergency pick-up is needed and we can not reach a parent or guardian, we will call the names on your list. We will only release to those names, unless we speak with you. If you wish to add or change these contacts you can go into Aspen and make a change yourself or you can contact our office and we can make the change for you.
