Hello PV Families,
Happy weekend! We’ve officially wrapped up our first week of state testing and are incredibly proud of how hard our students have been working. Next week, we continue with the Math portion of the assessment—keep up the great effort, Panthers!
One of the week’s highlights has been our Book Fair, which concludes tonight with our Family Night & Ice Cream Social from 6–8 PM! We invite you to join us with your child(ren) to take advantage of Buy One, Get One Free books and enjoy some delicious ice cream. It’s a sweet way to wrap up the week!
This week we also celebrated our Student of the Month for Safety—we’re proud of all our students for continuing to live up to our PRIDE expectations. Our second graders enjoyed a Field Trip to NBMAA. Check out the photos below to see some of the amazing moments from this week.
Looking Ahead: Staff Appreciation Week!
Next week kicks off our Staff Appreciation Celebration—and we’re celebrating EVERYONE who helps make PV a wonderful place to learn and grow! That includes:Teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, case managers, behavior specialists, interventionists, specials teachers, ML and WL teachers, preschool staff, office team, custodians, café staff, and our amazing admin team!
We encourage students to make thank-you cards for any staff member who has made a difference in their lives. Our wonderful PTO has planned a week full of daily treats, and we’re so grateful to all the families who donated gift cards or signed up to help with setup and cleanup. Thank you!
Your partnership is what makes PV the special community it is for all of our students.
Upcoming Events & Important Dates:
May 23: Field Day
May 29: Pre-K POP Graduation
June 5: Grade 5 Senior Trip to VMP
June 12: Grade 5 Moving Up Ceremony
More details for POP Graduation, the senior trip, and the moving up ceremony will be shared directly by your child’s teacher.
Also last week, our PTO along with the other PTOs across district sponsored a Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast, and students created thank-you cards for our drivers. Their smiles said it all—thank you for helping us show them the love they deserve! (See photos below.)
The PTO Executive Board has planned an incredible week of appreciation for our amazing staff. If you’re available and would like to volunteer to help with setup or other tasks on any day from Monday to Friday, please reach out directly to the PTO.
Additionally, the PTO is currently seeking candidates for the roles of Secretary and Vice President for the upcoming school year. If you are interested in either or both positions, kindly email pto@pvpto.org to express your interest.
Lastly, our baby chicks in Mrs. DiCiccio's first-grade class are expected to hatch soon! Don’t miss out on the excitement—use this Baby Chicks to watch the action unfold in real time. The students are absolutely thrilled to witness this amazing natural phenomenon.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Esther & Jenna
