Message from the Principal
As we near the end of another enriching academic year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and partnership in your child's education journey. Together, we have navigated through challenges and celebrated numerous achievements, and I am immensely proud of the growth and accomplishments of our students.
Summer School Opportunities: For those students who may benefit from additional academic support or enrichment over the summer, we are pleased to offer our summer school programs with both academic and enrichment opportunities. This year, summer school is by invitation only. Invitations have been sent out, so please return them as soon as possible to secure your child's place in our summer program. These programs aim to provide targeted instruction and reinforce essential skills to ensure a smooth transition into the next grade level. To be invited, the student also needs to be pre-registered to attend Mission View for the 2024-2025 school year. We will be offering Summer School from June 3-27, Mondays-Thursdays, from 8:00-12:00.
Recognition Ceremonies: In recognition of our students' outstanding efforts and achievements throughout the year, we will be hosting our 4th quarter recognition ceremonies on the Last Day of School- Thursday May 23rd. Kinder, 1st and 2nd grades will be at 9:00; 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will be at 9:30. These ceremonies serve as a moment to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and resilience demonstrated by our students.
Promotion Ceremony: The culmination of the school year brings with it a significant milestone for our 5th grade students. Our promotion ceremony will be a special occasion to honor the accomplishments of our students as they transition to the next phase of their educational journey, middle school. We look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion with our 5th grade classes and their families on Wednesday, May 22nd, at 2:00pm.
As we reflect on the past school year and look ahead to the opportunities that the future holds, I am filled with a sense of optimism and pride. Together, as a community, we have demonstrated resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to our students' success.
Thank you once again for your continued support, and I wish you and your families a restful and rejuvenating summer break.
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Your involvement in the PTA is instrumental in creating a positive and supportive school environment. We look forward to welcoming new leaders to our PTA family. Please join us for our PTA meeting on Tuesday, May 7th at 3:00pm. We will be planning our end of the year celebrations and 5th grade promotion ceremony. We encourage you to come and provide some input and we are in need of volunteers for setting up our end of the year events.
We would like to give a shout out to a few of our parents - Thank you to Ms. Claudia Fotakis, she will be our new PTA President for the upcoming school year. She has also been volunteering for our morning Walking Club. Thank you also to Ms. Guadalupe Ramos and Tanya Ramos, who have also been volunteering for our morning Walking Club.
Thank you to all families who have donated items for our upcoming Teacher Appreciation week. We appreciate you support. We are still in need of some items, see below, if you are able to donate. Thank you.

Please check out our Lost and Found. We have still have several jackets, sweaters, water bottles and small accessories/ jewelry items. Any unclaimed items will be donated to our Clothing Closet.
Field Day/ Dia Del Niño
On April 30th, we celebrated Dia Del Niño with a Field Day. Thank you to Mr. Robles, of Festivity Rentals, for generously donating two jumping castles for the event. Thank you to our many wonderful parent volunteers who ran some of our stations: Tanya Ramos, Araceli Islava, Roberto Juarez, Jeffrey Fotakis, Andrea Valle, and Ana Castelo.
Thank you to all of our wonderful staff for facilitating the event. We had a great time and look forward to doing it again next year.
Counselor Corner
For the final month of our amazing school year, upper elementary students will be watching the movie "Inside Out." "Inside Out" is a Pixar Animated release that explores the complex emotions of a young girl named Riley as she navigates significant changes in her life. What makes the film unique is its portrayal of Riley's emotions as characters: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, who live inside her mind and influence her actions. Lower elementary students will view "Horton Hears a Who." This delightful film will explore friendships and helping others. Students will additionally finish out the school year with a commitment to pursue kindness throughout the summer.
