We are here to do good things for our students, our coworkers, and our community.
We represent qualities such as love, hope, kindness, respect, and responsibility.
Our culture mirrors those attributes.
Let's continue to make our school the best place to work and learn
where everyone is inspired to be the best they can be.
What we do, we do well.
Let's keep the courage to shape a bright future for our students.

Fueling Kids' Futures
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Fueling Kids’ Futures – One Meal at a Time, formerly Blessings in a Backpack, is designed to help meet the nutritional needs of school-age children who participate in the Free or Reduced-Price School Meals program at school.
Each week during the school year, students enrolled in the program will receive a bag of non-perishable food items to take home on the weekends. Bags will be dispensed in a discreet and caring manner. The meals may include items such as macaroni and cheese, beef ravioli, canned tuna, granola bars, peanut butter, soups, fruit and other items.
There is no cost to participants for this program.
If you would like to have your child participate in this program, please complete these two steps.
1. Complete the Fueling Kids' Futures - One Meal at a Time form and return it to your student’s school as soon as possible. If you have more than one student attending the school, list the names of all children in the school.
2. Complete the Application for Summer EBT and Education Benefits for Michigan School Meals Program, which qualifies families for additional benefits, including Fueling Kids' Futures - One Meal at a Time. More information is available on the food services section of the RCS webpage at: https://www.rochester.k12.mi.us/about-us/departments/foodservices.
Please be sure to indicate on the Fueling Kids' Futures form if your child has any food allergies. Parents and caregivers are responsible for checking all food labels when the food arrives home.
This program is a community-based program sponsored by Fueling Kids’ Futures, Community Foundation of Greater Rochester, the Kroger Corporation and the greater Rochester community, in a partnership with Rochester Community Schools. The district and sponsors will not be held responsible for any accidental food allergen exposure.

TEAMWORK
Next week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Teamwork. Teamwork means you work well as a member of a group or team. You are loyal, reliable, and dedicated to helping your team achieve its goals.
Teamwork involves prioritizing group success. Those strong in teamwork help all group members succeed, committing time and resources to the group's goals. They often delay personal accomplishments to ensure the group's overall success, which fosters positive feelings and counters selfishness and egotism.
For individuals, teamwork often means deferring or delaying individual accomplishments in order to ensure that the group maintains a high level of success. Their commitment to the larger group effort makes them good teammates. The positive feelings associated with being part of a larger whole — can be highly beneficial and combat selfishness and egotism.
To practice and encourage the character strength of teamwork at home, please visit the Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families. There, you will watch a video clip together and discuss a quote and three questions related to teamwork.
Thank you for your continued support!
